She may not be pretty or done correctly by any stretch of the imagination, but I am making her all by myself! Decided to challenge myself not to go back and correct my stitches that messed up, or redo the whole thing, but enjoy making something real and imperfectly beautiful. First day knitting is a success, and my hands got a great workout 🧶

Helloooooooo! Yes, that is my beach outfit, and I am walking on a million not-so-crushed shells barefoot, in case I don’t look as happy to be here as I am. Ping and Vicki are taking care of my GHF classes tomorrow because I am taking the day off to celebrate my 53rd birthday! See you Tuesday xx

Yeah, I can’t pose, it’s ok, I know, I’m NOT a fan of being in front of a camera … but I’m still posting this year’s headshots because I am really proud of myself for being back on skates after a broken bone taking me out last year. I’m playing roller derby again, I’m loving my league role as ‘rookie coordinator’, and I officially joined Gainesville Roller Rebels Brawl-Stars team! Looking forward to playing in my first ever tournament in a few weeks!

It’s a great day for a trail skate! Two skaters, one slide and roll, and two face plants … but we kept going for 13.7 miles in just over 2 hours! Getting prepped to (attempt to) skate 36 miles on the Hawthorne Trail in February!

This is what roller derby cross training can look like, or in fact, cross training for any sport. The best way to make sure you stick with a new exercise routine, is to find one that you enjoy! I’m having a blast proving to myself that I can do hard things, even in my 50s, and have fun making new friends at the same time!

Busy putting on my donut outdoor wheels for their maiden voyage at the Gainesville PRIDE festival! I will be hanging out at the Gainesville Roller Rebels’ booth at Bo Diddley Plaza from 12-2pm today so stop by and say hi!

⭐️ Join for either the Referee Clinic (with both an on- and off-skates portion) or the NSO Clinic (off-skates). After the clinic, stay for a rookie-level scrimmage to practice your new skills! All levels welcome, no officiating experience required.
