He worked for The Yamaha Shop as a tech. Then in 1977 he and a partner opened Motorcycle Salvage. A few years later the partner moved on to racing drag motorcycles and Iain continued with the Motorcycle Salvage. With good business practices and eagerness to help the local motorcycle community, Motorcycle Salvage rapidly grew into one of the largest stores for aftermarket parts, OEM hard parts, ATV
s, boats, cruisers, dirt bikes, motorcycles, PWCs, reverse trikes, sport bikes, street bikes or UTVs. In 1993 the name changed to Sun Sports Cycles & Watercraft, Inc. In addition to the name change Sun Sports introduced Artic Cats's Tigershark and Bearcat ATV line up to Ft. Myers. Then in 1997 Sun Sports Cycle acquired FT. Myers Cycle, the Honda,Suzuki,Yamaha dealership. Expanded the store to 17,500sq ft and remodeled the interior. The business went from 5 employees to 30 employees over night. The merger was a huge learning curve for everyone. Sun Sports Cycle is now the dealer for Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Sea-Doo, Suzuki and Yamaha. Sun Sports Cycle support's a Motocross team and the AMA's 250gp #2 Perry Melneciuc.
