Registration for our 2026–2027 season opened July 1, and classes begin September 10! We can’t wait to fill our studios with familiar faces and new ones alike. From first dance steps to lifelong friendships, we’re excited for everything this season will bring!

💙 Calling the Dance Family of Amber Rosser-Tordoff 💙
To all of Amber’s dance friends - from her years at Forest Dance Academy, her time dancing at Virginia Tech, and every fellow dancer she touched along the way...

As many of you know, Amber’s life was beautifully intertwined with dance. It was where she found joy, friendship, purpose, and a community that loved her dearly.

Following Amber’s Heavenly Homecoming service, Forest Dance Academy will be honoring her with a special dance tribute ~ a celebration of her life through the very gift she cherished most. Dance.

We would be honored to have you join us on the dance floor as we celebrate Amber’s beautiful spirit. This tribute will feature lyrical, contemporary, and worship-inspired choreography, thoughtfully layered so that dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome. Whether you danced beside Amber as a child at FDA, shared the stage with her during her college years, or crossed paths with her through dance at any point in life, your presence would mean so much. No matter how long it’s been since you’ve danced, this isn’t about perfection, it’s about coming together as one dance family to honor someone who meant so much to all of us.

Please join us in celebrating Amber through movement, love, and the memories we will forever carry in our hearts.

Rehearsals are as follows:
Tuesday, July 21st 6:00pm
Set Choreography (Learn in person, via Zoom, or video)
Friday, July 24th 5:30pm
Rehearse and Stage at Glass Hill Venue

If you would like to participate in the tribute dance, please contact Brittany Wood at BrittanyFDA5678@gmail by Tuesday, July 21st so you can be included. The choreography will be set to Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) by Hillsong so we would love for you all to wear different shades of blue.

Dear FDA Dance Family,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of one of Forest Dance Academy’s most beloved alumni, Amber Leigh Tordoff, who has peacefully gone home to be with the Lord after her courageous battle with cancer. Amber’s gifts and spirit impacted all who crossed her path. She was a radiant light within our dance family, an extraordinary dancer, a devoted teacher, and a beautiful soul who loved deeply, encouraged endlessly, and gave so much of herself to others. Her passion for dance was not only a gift she carried, but one she so freely shared, leaving a lasting impression on every life she touched.

Amber’s time at FDA as a company dancer, faculty member, and mentor helped shape the heart of our studio. She led with grace, strength, and unwavering faith, inspiring those around her both on and off the stage. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and love for dance will continue to live on through all of us. And FDA will be implementing the Blackbird Foundation to ensure that others are able to share in her passion.

In true Amber fashion, she thoughtfully asked that she be honored through dance at her Heavenly Homecoming service; a reflection of the beauty and determination that defined her life.

Her Heavenly Homecoming will be held on Saturday, July 25th at Glass Hill Wedding Venue. More details will be shared as they become available.

We would like to invite any of Amber’s former teammates and dance sisters who feel called to be part of this tribute. This will be a meaningful and heartfelt way to celebrate her life and honor her in the way she loved most - the art of dance. Let us come together to honor Amber with one final, beautiful gift - through movement, music, and love.
