An absolute dinosaur of an archery bull!

Sometimes it’s tough for people who haven’t hunted to understand the excitement and satisfaction we get from this passion of ours. There is so much preparation, physical and mental, a lot of investment into the correct gear and a good place to go. There is also an instinct in each one of us as humans that awakens when a successful hunt is achieved. I’m sure it’s from when we knew success meant our families would be fed. If you haven’t tried it you should. You’ll love it as much as we do…

First Mule deer hunter of the season. Got a nice one! Hopefully we’re in store for a great fall full of giant mule deer.

World record White Bull Elk! It’s hard to know for sure because there is not a separate record book for white elk but from our research this appears to be the biggest by a lot. 600”+ white elk is incredible. Most likely it will be the record for many years!

Sometimes the picture “On the Log” really helps you appreciate how massive and beautiful some of these bulls really are. Also it has the success at the end of hunt vibe too!

Elk hunting is a grand adventure. The good and the bad is that elk are a very large animal. The antlers, cape and the meat can sometimes weight close to 500lbs. This can sometimes make pack-outs very challenging. Here at Broadmouth we have some of the most capable guides in the world. No matter where you shoot the trophy you’ve always dreamed of, we will retrieve it and all the meat. Sometimes it’s not fun in the moment, but it makes for great memories.

Big bow hunting bulls! This is what it looks like when preparation and a little luck come together.

Always a difficult decision. When to draw your bow back….

Early season archery hunting is always a challenge. Fun to see these big bulls taking their velvet off, hitting the wallows, getting their voices tuned up for bugling and the rut. It’s getting exciting!

One of our hunters that harvested a great big bison on our ranch last season just shared a picture of the completed mount. Gives you a good idea how giant American Bison are. And no, she’s not 4 feet tall!! 😂😂
