Rowing may happen on the water… but so much of what makes this team special happens because of our moms behind the scenes.

From sunrise drop-offs to race-day hugs, from hospitality tables to endless support - thank you for being the steady hands guiding your athletes forward every day. And for surviving the 10 million trips to Sarasota and back. 😉

Happy Mother’s Day to all our Shark moms.

Not every race is about battling another boat. Sometimes it’s about showing up, being willing to race, and representing your team with pride.

Honestly, I think racing uncontested can sometimes be harder. There’s no chaos or boats beside you fueling adrenaline. No chasing, no defending - just you, your crew, and your ability lock in and push the entire way down the course.

8th graders Gavin and Elena took the water in the Open Gender 2x at the Southeast Youth Championships and brought home the win.

Time trial by themselves. Final by themselves. Just the two of them rowing down the course with a drone hovering overhead and all eyes on them. That takes focus and maturity.

Uncontested or not, these two stepped up, raced hard, and represented Sebastian River Rowing with heart in the summer heat. Proud of the way they supported their team, embraced the experience, and competed on the regional stage.

What a race.

These boys fought hard and left absolutely everything out on the water today.

5th in the entire Southeast against some of the fastest crews in the nation.

And the craziest part?

This boat was made up of:
1 sophomore
3 freshmen
1 eighth grader

Young. Hungry. Tough.

The future is incredibly bright, and this crew proved they belong on the big stage. Proud of the grit, composure, and heart they showed all weekend.

Yesterday showed what growth and showing up for each other on a huge stage looks like.

At the USRowing Southeast Youth Championships, our athletes took on the fastest crews in the region - and we could not be prouder of how they competed.

The Girls Youth 8+ may not have advanced, but this crew is something special. Every athlete in the boat is a freshman or sophomore, meaning this same group can return to this championship over the next TWO years in the same category. The future is incredibly bright for these ladies, and this experience is only the beginning.

And today… two Sebastian River Rowing crews race in the finals.

⭐ Open Gender 2x - Gavin & Elena
⭐ Boys U17 4+ - Bronson, Tyler, Jude, John & Elena

The Boys U17 4+ came into the regatta seeded near the bottom of the field and turned heads by charging to 4th overall in the time trial to earn a spot in today’s final. They passed two boats and pulled away to open water by the finish. That’s what effort, grit, and teamwork look like.

No matter what happens today, these athletes have already made this team proud.

Join us in cheering them on as they race today.

And just like that… 🫰 Sweep States 2026 is a wrap.

This weekend was big.

It was teammates lifting each other up.
It was racing through hard things.
It was trusting the work and showing up for each other.

This group has built something special - the kind of friendship where they play hard, work harder, and genuinely celebrate each other along the way. And then… they get to see that work pay off.

And yes - it was a podium moment:
🥉 Girls Junior 8+ - 3rd in the state

But what stands out most is how this team competes - together.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. 💙

Our Girls 2- showed real resilience this weekend.

Through sickness and injuries, they stayed committed to each other and the race - charging down the course and improving by 17 seconds.

A strong finish and a great showing at 12th in the state.

So very proud of these ladies. Way to go!

04/26/2026

Our Boys Junior 4+ put together a strong race this weekend. The placed 3rd in the B final which puts them at 12th overall for the state.

They stayed connected, moved well together, and fought all the way down the course.

A great effort on a big stage. 💙

Tough draw. No excuses.

Our Freshman Boys 4+ got stacked in the heats, landing with some of the fastest crews in the state and getting pushed into the B final.

So what did they do?
They dominated it.

1st in B Final
10th overall in the state

And here’s the part that is fun to look at…Their time would have placed 6th in the A Final.

Speed is speed. These boys are coming.
