Florida Tech Challenge Course We are an outdoor learning laboratory that brings people together through team building!

The Trailhead Preserve FIT Challenge Course is a publicly owned outdoor recreation facility operated by Florida Institute of Technology and partially developed with assistance from the Land and Water Conservation Fund on land acquired with funds from the Florida Communities Trust (FCT) and Indian River County. The Trailhead Preserve is compliant with Title VI of Civil Rights Act, Section 504 of Rehabilitation Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act.

Unfortunately, the Challenge Course has been shut down. It was one of the best jobs I ever had. While disappointed (to say the least), it has opened up new opportunities. I have taken a leap and decided to jump into the handyman business. After over 40 years of doing my own, family, and friends repairs and improvements, I have decided to see if I can get paid actual money. I spent 14 years in trades (cabinetmaker and electrician) before I became an ROTC Instructor and later ran the Florida Tech Challenge Course, two of the best jobs I ever had. With over 34 years in the active and reserve Army, I have learned to do the job right, on time, and professionally. My focus is on smaller projects that don’t require permits or multiple days. One of the highlights of my year is the annual training I do with Challenge Design Innovation at Ft Knox, KY. We train ROTC cadre to run the High Ropes program for ROTC cadets from all over the country. This year included cadre from Florida State University as well as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
