With the calm, warm, and sunny weather we had to start off September the early fall moving bait bite hadn't quite kicked off for us yet- so we switched gears, put the spinning rods in our hands and were rewarded again with a beautiful 5-14 to start the day and multiple fish over 4.5lbs. With our late summer bite continuing later ever year even though it doesn't always produce big numbers we've had a fish over 5lbs every day. Next year I'll be extending the season to at least the end of September up here on the beautiful St Lawrence River so if youre looking for a shot at a 5+, no crowds, and beautiful scenery come check it out!

Started my fall season on a mission to show some great
people my favorite place in the world- The St Lawrence
River and beautiful Clayton, New York. We fished until
sunset for 3 nights and were rewarded with an incredible
finish on Day 3 with multiple fish over 5lbs, doubles, and
smiles all around. Capt Bill Lortz at

took care of the 2nd boat for 2

days and took about 2 hours to get a PB 5lber in the
boat even on a typical slower Sept bite where quality
tops quantity. Even though it's a completely different
fishery that I grew up on it feels great to be home
showing off the beauty and giant smallmouth that make
northern NY so special!

What else can I say besides the ladies have been crushing the big ones lately here on Lake St Clair and I'm all for it! I have to pull my buff up to hide my grin as the guys cuss and sigh every time a big one hits the net from the back of the boat but that's summertime fishing when a slow presentation is the ticket. I feel like I have the entire lake to myself staying away form the crowds and still catching numbers with quality mixed in- that's what makes Lake St Clair such an amazing fishery! It's going to be an incredible late summer and fall with crisp cool mornings, great fishing, and beautiful scenery here up north! Soon I'll be headed home to fish the mighty St Lawrence River and will be here on beautiful Lake St Clair....you can't go wrong with the two best fisheries in the country!

Had a blast landing this cool battle wound covered muskie on a 10lb leader and a finesse tube this week but the star of the show as always were the incredible smallmouth that call Lake St Clair home. Still getting a few on topwater but the summer pattern is setting in and that means big perch eaters on light line and finesse tactics way offshore away from everyone which I love. Late July/August are my favorite time to fish the lake with no crowds, big fat schooled up smallmouth, and stable beautiful weather-hope to see you here!

It's been 3 weeks full of incredible fishing and beautiful sunrises here on Headwaters Lake! Never thought Id be guiding every day like this but I appreciate the support beyond words. More giants in the 8-10lb class, so many 4-6lb chunky postspawners I can't count, and 60 fish days have become so normal to me its a surreal feeling. Having so much grass, clean water, and all different depths have made it so I hardly see another boat and can guide the way I like- away from everyone doing my own thing! Artifical bite is in full swing and April is a great month to come check out the great fishing, beaches, restaurants, and weekly rocket launches The Space Coast has to offer!

What better place than Marathon in the Florida Keys to sneak away for a few days of rest and to celebrate my client Caleb catching this 14lb giant on Headwaters Lake! We had a fun day traditional shiner fishing with has dad boating an 8lber so with the day winding down I looked around up shallow and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her cruising in crystal clear water. With the chance at a fish of a lifetime for both guide and client I hastily threw a giant dead shiner on a spinning rod and we worked it like a soft plastic fluke and Caleb held on for dear life....a few seconds of silence when she hit the net as we all couldn't believe it then I screamed out like id won the Bassmaster Classic haha. That's right a 14lb Florida Bass on a spinning rod, gin clear water, and a moment I'll never forget the rest of my life!

Looks like the warm stable weather is finally here to stay setting up for incredible late March and April artificial fishing with topwater, chatterbaits, and flipping heavy grass. For great numbers and the chance at a fish of a lifetime come on down and see me here on the Space Coast. Thanks for all the support everyone it's the only reason I can even be out here showing you all a slice of old Florida!

Humbling to be asked to run a big 5 boat 3 day group trip together all on my own for the West Virginia boys but bringing in such a great group of guides, having good weather, and letting Headwaters Lake do the rest made it a weekend for the books. The groups big fish was a 9-3, had 4 over 8lbs, and so many 4-7lbers there was no way to keep track. Pat at Fellsmere Fishing HQ kept us loaded with bait even with it being so scarce and the Watering Hole provided great food and drinks for the whole group all weekend. Having all the guides, clients, and local businesses be so appreciative made all the hard work worth it!

The artificial bite is picking up and should be incredible for March and April get a hold of me to check out this little slice of Old Florida!

Mother Nature gave us a nice warm week timed perfectly with some of my favorite local clients coming to support me and that led to 6 days of incredible fishing on Headwaters Lake. Started the week chucking moving baits in the wind, then sight fishing a 6 beautiful pound female, and finishing up with as many wild shiners as we could buy. These guys were a big part of me coming back down to guide this year so watching them have blowups as soon as it hit the water every morning, back to back 7lbers one day, then the last day each of them holding 2 rods with the line screaming out on both not knowing what to do was something special. All 3 days we were all so wore out we never made it much past noon. Weekdays in March are filling up so contact me for more info about visiting the Space Coast!
