According to the Mayo Clinic, exercise can help improve cholesterol by raising high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, the good cholesterol.

With your doctor's ok, aim for:
-30 minutes of moderate exercise, five times a week
-Or 20 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity, such as running or swimming laps, three times a week
