First day back post high school and JV season.

Coach Dave talked about the importance of changing your mindset as we transition into summer baseball. The standard changes. The expectations change. The work has to change.

The gym, recovery, arm care, and training on your own time now become priorities if you truly want to embrace the Canes Standard. Nobody is going to hand you confidence, toughness, or development. That is earned daily through discipline and consistency.

“You made a commitment to yourself… and we are here to push that standard — and we will never soften our standards.”

Summer baseball is not about showing up when it’s convenient.
It’s about learning how to compete when you’re tired, uncomfortable, and challenged.

This is the only way you will play at the next level.

To all of our Grind 24/7 athletes finishing their college careers…

Congratulations.

What you accomplished goes far beyond baseball. The early mornings, long drives, injuries, failures, pressure, sacrifices, and moments nobody saw helped shape you into who you are today. Baseball gave you more than a uniform — it taught you discipline, resilience, accountability, leadership, and how to keep showing up when life gets hard.

As you move into this next chapter of life, carry those lessons with you. The game may eventually end, but the mindset never should.

No matter where life takes you next, always remember where the grind started and the people who helped build you along the way.

And one challenge from us…
Don’t stay away from the game too long.

The next generation needs leaders who have lived it. Give back. Coach. Mentor. Teach. Share the lessons, failures, and experiences that baseball gave you. Be the example for the young players chasing the same dream you once had.

We are proud of all of you and excited for what comes next.
