WHY DO WE ASSESS OUR ATHLETES? 📊🏃‍♂️

Because “working hard” and actually getting better aren’t always the same thing.

At Athletes True Performance, we don’t just put athletes through workouts and hope they improve. We measure it.

Our athletes are regularly assessed in areas like:

⚡ Acceleration – How quickly can they get moving?
🏃 Max Velocity – How fast can they actually run?
🔄 Change of Direction – Can they efficiently stop, cut and re-accelerate?
⬆️ Vertical & Broad Jump – How well are they producing force?

But here’s the most important part:

The numbers aren’t the goal. The improvement is.

Testing allows us to identify strengths, uncover weaknesses, adjust training and show athletes that their work is producing results.

And we don’t want improvement to only show up on a spreadsheet.

We want to see it on the field. On the court. On the track. In the pool. In the game.

📈 Assess. Train. Perform. Then start again.

That’s how we develop better athletes.

Athletes True Performance
Train with purpose. Measure the difference.

Week 3 loading! Building a great foundation for this group and it has been a ton of fun. You can tell they are working on their forward lean, the main concept we are teaching for this 6 week period.

Quite a few people have asked if we are going to run the Youth Speed Camp again, so let’s see who is interested for the next round!

Tag a friend or spouse who has an athlete ages 7-10 that wants to get faster and move better (ie not fall down as much with the current group 😂) in a fun, competitive environment. We will send you all the info you need.

New session starts in October!

🏆 AUGUST SWISA SPIRIT AWARD — Emmett! 💙💛

The SWISA Spirit Award recognizes more than athletic ability. It recognizes the commitment to showing up, putting in the work, and making the most of every opportunity to get better.

This month, we offered 13 sessions to SWISA Soccer and Emmett attended 9 ATP performance sessions — the most of any SWISA athlete! 🔥

That kind of consistency matters.

Speed. Strength. Movement. Confidence. None of it happens overnight. It’s built through repetition, effort, and showing up when it would be easier not to.

Congratulations, Emmett! 👏
Keep putting in the work and setting the standard!

We want to make sure this is very clear. ATP is here to help our athletes make noticeable improvements. We test more than anyone else around to track improvements, but the real change needs to be seen out on the field, court, pool or track.

So here are a few things we GUARANTEE we won’t do:

❌ Guarantee your athlete will get faster overnight.

❌ Guarantee they’ll make the team or be a starter.

❌ Guarantee a college scholarship.

❌ Tell you that our program alone will make your athlete successful.

❌ Treat every athlete like they need the exact same training.

❌ Guarantee that training alone will overcome a lack of effort, consistency, or commitment.

Because development doesn’t work that way. Athletes still have to show up, work, recover, compete, and apply what they learn.

We don’t promise outcomes we can’t control.

We ask our athletes to control what they can control, so we do the same: the coaching, the process, the standards, and the commitment to helping your athlete get better.

Assess it. Train it. Perform it.

That’s ATP.

🔥 DAY 1 COMPLETE! 🔥

These athletes brought the energy!

Today was all about building the foundation.

We focused on only two things.

1) Lean forward when you start running and
2) we prioritized power with control.

Running into other players and falling down might be funny, but they aren’t helpful in the game. So we learned how to accelerate, stop, and change direction.

🏆 Of course, we also had plenty of competition and FUN.

One of our biggest goals isn’t simply to make athletes tired.

It’s to teach them how to move.

When young athletes learn how to control their bodies, produce force, and move efficiently, they have a foundation they can take into ANY sport.

This is just the beginning. First day, definitely a success. 👀

Best part of this post? I didn’t ask Cruz to put this on the board, she asked me if she could. ❤️ I think kids want to inspire each other, they just need some direction and opportunity. Thanks Cruz, you made our week! 🏊‍♀️ 🏈
