Our History

Established in 1980. Progressive Dance Studio (PDS) located in Englewood, NJ is one of Bergen County's most respected and experienced dance studios. Progressive Dance Studio's faculty is comprised of professionally educated dance instructors who are highly qualified and have experience dancing on and off-Broadway. Some of our instructors also teach at New York City's premier Dance Schools, such as Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Center, and Studio Maestro. PDS's infusion of outstanding dance teachers from New York and New Jersey provides an atmosphere of learning, inspiration, and excitement for our students. As we celebrate our 41st year, we invite anyone who wants to learn to dance to come and experience what PDS has to offer! We focus on providing a solid foundation in dance education and do not rely on fads or gimmicks but solid lesson plans designed to further the progression of our students. Our stellar reputation is based on a first-rate faculty and staff. We make it abundantly clear that we love what we do. Our level of customer service and commitment to our students is unsurpassed and enjoyed by all who pass through our doors.

Strong backs. Beautiful lines. Behind every powerful kick is purposeful training. 💪🩰

Our dancers are building back strength to support their grand battement derrière—the big kick to the back—with a focus on control, alignment, and technique. Small steps in class, big progress on stage! ✨

The stage gets the spotlight. Rehearsal gets the sweat. 🔥

Flushed cheeks. Drenched dancewear. One more run—even when they’re exhausted. Watching these girls pour their hearts into their solos reminds us how much dedication lives behind every performance. ❤️‍🔥

The music may stop, but the growth walks out of the studio with them.

2026–2027 competition season… these girls are cooking, and we can’t wait to see them serve. 👏✨
