Warmer temperatures rolling in. That means it’s time to dust off the cobwebs & come out for range sessions! I cannot stress this enough, vet who you learn from. Question what gives them the qualifications to teach what they do. No competent & confident instructor should be offended by this or unable to produce credentials. Too many pop-up instructors in the industry. Buyer beware!

Fun practice with a match this weekend. Wasn’t pretty, but picked up some things to work on for the regular U.S. Practical Shooting Assn. (USPSA) season. Can’t wait for warmer weather!

Accountability Post: I laid down some decent runs tonight with the new to me G***k 47, much more work to do though. My first ever all classifier match was a malfunction/PE dumpster fire that earned me C class, and not at all what I am capable of. Only had one other match under my belt with a classifier stage. But for now I’ll settle for the B class runs and an M run on one stage tonight. I know I’ve got better in me, just a matter of time and consistency

Traveled to Dover, DE to try to knock the rust off in a small local charity match. Brought along my pint sized videographer who made us late due to homework procrastination… But the memory was worth it. 2nd in Div, 4th overall. A lot to work on.

Spent a portion of my day doing the BAER Solutions 2 per side drill, correctly this time. Had my daughter in tow again to help with the coaching lol. My best run hf wise was a 4.34 time and a 9.21 hf. My quickest runs were in the 3’s, but the hits were unreliable/hard to repeat on demand. So being honest with myself I posted the most repeatable outcome. I find this drill really helpful in the sense that it identified a bad habit of pulling off the first target too soon and shoving the gun too hard sideways into the second target, going past the A zone. The element of awkward side movement makes it interesting also. Definitely keep this one in the tool box.o

New build! Really excited about this one as I venture into U.S. Practical Shooting Assn. (USPSA) this season. The G***K

47 is phenomenal in the sense of reliability, modularity, and the magic that comes from having a full size barrel with a shorter guide rod. This video is essentially explaining what it is I’ve done to this unit and how thankful I am to have the support and belief I do from those in my corner that have helped. As well as an appreciation and shoutout to the craftsmanship and products these fine companies put out. Enjoy!
