5 years ago I made a decision and told a coworker "I'm going to open a gym." They just said "Okay?"
This was not just a sentence or random thought. I looked into my future and decided. I will own a CrossFit gym.
I stopped saying "I want to open a gym" or "I'm hoping to someday own a gym"
When you leave failure as an option there is a high chance you'll choose it because it's the easy route. Think about it. Failing at anything is so easy, you could stop reading this post right now and it would be a failure to finish.
If you're still reading I want to encourage you to be brave enough to make a declaration. I know you have a thing that you want, you've been thinking about it for a long time even. Go back to that first moment you decided you wanted that thing and imagine you made progress with that thing every week since you first dreamt about it.
College classes? Those would have been finished by now.
Learning to sing? You may not have made it onto American Idol but you might have enough courage to do karaoke.
Losing some weight? You may be so happy with your progress that you've now made it your mission to help other people like you.
If you're still reading I can hear your thoughts. Truth be told you're right, you aren't ready. Speaking from personal experience tho, you're never going to be ready but if you start now you'll be closer to your goal than yesterday.
I could go on and on with inspirational quotes I've heard.
The best time to plant a tree was 15 years ago and the second best time is today.
Forward; sprint, jog, walk, crawl, drag, as long as it's forward it doesn't matter how fast.
Bite off more than you can chew and learn to chew.
Strike a boulder with a hammer until it breaks, which strike was the one to break it?
If you want to become something different, stop giving yourself the option of failure. Bravery isn't the absence of fear, bravery is being scared as hell but doing it anyway.
If you're still reading this, share this post and write your own declaration.
I am going to fulfill my purpose of helping people become the version of themselves they can be happy with.
