Some nights, my mind becomes the loudest place I know..
And no matter how tired I am, I can’t escape it.
Because when everything gets quiet and the rest of the world goes to sleep, every thought I’ve been holding back suddenly comes alive.
I think about everything.
The things that happened.
The things that could happen.
The things I should have said.
The things I wish I could change.
The people I love.
The people I worry about.
The moments I replay even though I know there’s nothing left to fix.
And before I know it, the darkness outside my window starts giving way to morning.
I’ve watched more sunrises than I can count because my mind simply refused to rest.
Maybe some people would call that a curse.
Maybe they’d tell me I think too much, care too much or feel things too deeply.
They’re probably right.
But I’ve made peace with that part of myself.
Because the same heart that keeps me awake at night is the heart that loves people with everything it has.
I don’t know how to care halfway.
I don’t know how to love halfway.
When someone matters to me, they matter completely.
I notice the little things.
I worry when something feels wrong.
I remember the things people forget they ever told me.
And I carry the people I love with me even when they aren’t standing beside me.
Yes.. sometimes that gets heavy.
Sometimes I get lost inside my own thoughts.
Sometimes I wish my mind had an off switch.
But I would never trade my depth for indifference.
Because this is who I am.
I feel deeply.
I care fiercely.
I love completely.
So don’t feel sorry for me because I overthink.
Understand what comes with it.
If I call you family, friend or the person I love, you will never have to wonder whether you matter to me.
You’ll get my heart.
My loyalty.
My concern.
My love.
Every single day.
Yes.. I overthink.
But I also overcare.
I overlove.
And in a world where so many people barely care at all..
I’ll never apologize for having a heart that feels everything.
