Good morning Facebookers! I'm enjoying a quite morning here in Ingram's Bayou, drinking my cup of coffee and watching the birds and dolphin. I just got through watching a dolphin and pelican either playing together, or irritating each other. Not sure what was going on. Lol... In an hour or so I'm going to move about a hour further west to Homeport Marina, Gulf Shores, Alabama. I need to refill propane, fill up with diesel, pump out the holding tank, fill up with water and do laundry. The marina is next to Lulu's Restaurant/Bar, which is home of the cheeseburger in paradise (Owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister). I expect I'll have to try the cheeseburger, just because.. :) It should be a pretty relaxing day. Cheers!

It has been a busy week.. A couple of days ago I completed a 35 hour crossing from Bradenton, FL. to Carrabelle, FL. There was little to no wind, so most of it was spent motoring. The seas were very calm, and still are. Last time I checked there's a high pressure system centered over the Florida Gulf coast which is keeping all the fronts from blowing through. I don't know how long it will be before things change, but for now I'm using this as my opportunity to knock out some miles. I'm currently in Port St. Joe, FL. and will continue west today. I will end up in either Panama City or Destin later today, depending on the winds.

Here are a few photos from the past few days.

Sorry, somehow lost the last post when I attempted to edit.. Anyway... Safely anchored next to C**n Key, in the lee of an unnamed key that is helping to block wind and waves.. It was a good easy day of sailing. Cheers!

Spent the day seeing the sites around Key West. Hands down, one of the best attractions on the island is free. It's the NOAA Eco-Discovery Center. Fully dedicated to teaching people about oceans, diving, sea life, corals and the ongoing threats to them. Lots of nice displays, aquariums and a 30 minute movie. Also watched a 3-D movie from the perspective of a scuba diver. It was the coolest thing watching a TV and feeling like there was sealife between me and the screen. Was also fun learning about the history of "The Little White House". I went by the Southern Most Point Marker (of the continental US), but didn't stop to take a photo. Had a late lunch at Sloppy Joe's. Should have skipped it! I make better sandwiches here on Makara!

THE ANTS ARE TAKING THE BAIT! Hoping there will be mass deaths in 24 hrs or so! :)

The weather is frustrating here! The wind has been howling out of the north for days now. On Monday it's suppose to flip back around to the south. I was planning to head out on Tuesday. Now there's another northern front headed down and should be here Friday morning. The wind will then flip around again out of the north and start blowing 35+ knots again.. uuggggg.. Now I have to figure out where I can get the boat to and hopefully be in protected waters before dropping the anchor on Thursday night. Also, currently there is NOT a good weather window in the next 10 days forecasted that would allow me to cross the Gulf Stream and go to Bimini, Bahamas.. Another issue under consideration is is what was suppose to be my next stop, Marathon Harbor and mooring field. It's currently full of boats and is going to get even fuller as the next front gets closer. Normally one could just anchor nearby in shallow water in Atlantic or the Gulf side, but that's not really a smart idea during storms and 30+ knot sustained winds with gusts much higher.. So yeah, at this point I haven't decided what I want to do. Hopefully there will be a break in this pattern of fronts every few days pushing through here.

I think my brain is now used to the rocking movement of the boat. All day today while on land, I felt like I was still rocking. A very strange feeling for sure..

What a difference a day can make! A front blew through yesterday evening and all day today has been nasty. Been stuck on the boat, looking forward to warmer days and calmer seas..
