Whether you’re a new golfer, a beginner, or have been playing for years, these three fundamentals are things you need to have down and make second nature before working on other parts of your swing.

So many swing faults come from poor fundamentals. Fixing them can often solve the root cause of your issues instead of chasing random swing fixes that only address the symptoms.

As always if you are looking to dig deeper into improving your game you can comment “strike” and I will send you my free ball striking video guide!

Hitting woods is very similar to hitting a long iron, by moving the ball forward in the stance it creates more of a sweeping motion while stilling allowing you to swing very much like an iron

A lack of neck mobility can come from a lot of things and it can lead to a lot of issues in the golf swing.

It’s surprising how often I see players struggle to make solid contact because their head can’t stay in position as they rotate. A lot of the time, this comes from limited neck mobility.

This lack of mobility often comes from weak or underactive stabilizing muscles in the upper back, mid back, and shoulders.

With this drill, we’re not only improving flexibility and range of motion in the neck, but also helping activate and strengthen the stabilizing muscles that support better movement.

If you want a more in depth guide on how to improve your mobility and specifically target the areas that impact your golf game, comment “mobility” and I’ll send you my free golf mobility video guide!

Club head speed certainly plays a large role in how far you can hit the ball but if you aren’t efficient with your swing, contact and face angle at impact first, swinging harder really won’t help. That’s why learning proper timing in transition is so important! If your swing is in a relatively good spot and you do want to add some speed (adding speed is a great idea if done right!) comment “swing” and I’ll send you my free video guide on gaining club head speed

When a player struggles with a lack of shaft lean, I almost never even mention that we’re working on it.

Instead, we work on rotation and getting the clubface more closed.

And like clockwork, as those things improve, shaft lean increases without them even realizing it.

Lag is a byproduct of doing other things well, not something you force

A poor release and poor rotation go hand in hand. If you lack rotation a chicken wing release is a very common side effect
