It was a great day to show off some of our hard work over the winter with appaloosas in the show pen at MDPH Open Show Series this past weekend.
A few highlights for our team:
💎Diamond made his debut in the ranch. He never did this before. We’ve found a new appreciation and love for all of the hard work that goes into it!
Diamond had a new rider on him for her first time ever showing. (Way to go and get out there, Adriana!)
Diamond and Steph won the English adult trail.
🐴 Gunnar and Amelia had some impressive placings in the showmanship (20 horses), a first in the western pleasure, and overall great placings in a pen full of genuine talent.
👑 Flame and Olivia won day end grand in both the adult English and Western divisions. Flame had his best English canter in the pen to date.
Although the placings are great, I also want to acknowledge everything that goes into it. This was our first show after coming off a long and bitter winter, with many days we weren’t able to ride. The team has been out here working HARD. Lessoning often, practicing, taking it serious. It was a long, cold, windy day and I’m beyond proud of each horse for how they handled it. It’s a direct correlation to those horses having a bond and trust with their riders and being able to stay in partnership with them.
Huge thank you to our crew behind the scenes! Kinzie being my right hand and helping with everything as I’m in the pen with students. Gary for hauling.
Our students who didn’t show but still showed up to cheer on our team. Thank you! Carol- for always looking out for me with yummy food just when I need it. The list goes on.
Last but not least- thank you to Marissa and her crew, the other exhibitors, our judge, Tricia, and the other trainers. I love coming to these shows and chit chatting with my peers, cheering on each others students. ❤️
Great way to kick off the season!! See ya in June! 😃
