Recognized Among America's Best
EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - Beaver Local High School has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best High Schools in America in the 2026-2027 rankings.
Beaver Local High School earned the following distinctions:
#1 high school in the Salem Metro Area
#116 in Ohio (690 Schools)
Top 17% of high schools in the state
#2,840 in the Nation (18,000 plus schools in Nation)
Top 16% of high schools in America
U.S. News changed/expanded the way it presents the rankings, and the rankings are based on six measures:
College readiness — 30%
State assessment proficiency — 20%
State assessment performance — 20%
College curriculum breadth — 10%
Underserved student performance — 10%
Graduation rate — 10%
"Being ranked #1 in the Salem Metro Area and among the top 16% of high schools nationwide is a testament to our entire school community," said Superintendent Eric N. Lowe.
