The Barton family bowling legacy began back in 1958 when Ray Barton and a partner built the 12/20 bowling center in Gary, IN. Barton’s partner felt that they should sell the bowling center and move on to different ventures. Mr. Barton decided that he would prefer to continue on in the bowling industry. He expanded hi

s 32-lane center to 43 lanes. Rumor has it that an odd number of lanes were built so that if there were 42 lanes of league play there would still be one lane available for open play. In 1964 Mr. Barton continued his expansion in the industry by building Stardust Bowl in Hammond, IN. His business continued to grow with the construction of Stardust Bowl II in Merrillville, IN in 1973. His fourth bowling center, Stardust Bowl III, was built in 1979 in Dyer, IN. In 1981 the 12/20 bowling center was sold leaving the three Stardust Bowl locations. In May of 2008, Stardust I in Hammond was closed. Although Mr. Barton owned over 200 lane beds at one time (43 in Gary, 48 in Hammond, 64 in Merrillville, and 48 in Dyer), he never once rolled a single ball down any of them. FALL LEAGUE UPDATES as of 9/2/26
If you are still thinking about joining one of our fall leagues, you still have time! Here are some current updates of our leagues:
Monday Night Mixed - Had their meeting, they gained a few teams, and will be starting on 9/14/26 with around 26 teams.
Tuesday Morning Ladies - Start on 9/15 with 10 teams. They could use individual bowlers or more teams
Tuesday Night Men - Had their meeting, start date of 9/8. They have 18 teams.
Wednesday Night Men - Have their meeting on 9/16/26, with a start date of 10/7. They had 16 teams last season
Wednesday Night Women - Have their meeting on 9/23, with a start date of 10/7. They had 12 teams last season
Thursday Night Mixed - Had their meeting, they gained 6 teams, and now have 28 teams!!! Starting on 9/3/26. They also have a team in need of 2 bowlers
Friday Afternoon Seniors - Start on 9/4/26. They have 16 teams. They are not taking more teams, but need 2 individual bowlers to fill rosters.
Friday Night Mixed - Had their meeting. starting on 9/11. They have 25 teams
Saturday Morning Juniors - Had their registration, but always taking new signups. There are about 100 kids expected in the program. Starts on 9/12
Saturday Niters Mixed - Started their season, and have 9 teams. As of right now, they are still looking for 1 more team of 3 to round them out at 10 teams
Saturday Once a Month Leagues start in September and are still excepting teams
Sunday Afternoon Mixed (every other week) - Have their meeting 8/30, start on 9/13. They had 12 teams last season
Sunday Night Mixed (every other week) - Had their meeting, starting on 9/20. They have 5 or 6 teams. If you don't mind a smaller league, this is a great option!

We will accept more RSVP's up until the end of today. Text "LC Girls" to 219-314-4199, along with your name and guest count to get on the list for this Saturday. They will have about 30 items up for auction at the event, and the only way to buy tickets is to RSVP your spot.
Just Breakfast (Spectator) is ONLY $8!!!

These results are UNOFFICIAL at this time until all averages are double checked and we check for errors. If you think we made an error with any score, please let us know. Bowlers will have until this Thursday to bring attention to any possible errors. We will make results official sometime this Friday afternoon.

We ended up with 214 total entries, with a total prize fund of $4429. 119 First time entries, 94 re-entries, and 1 squad sponsor. With a 1:8 pay ratio, the top 27 bowlers will win a cash prize. Remember, bowlers who bowled more than once can cash only 1 time based on their best 4 game series.
