Hello Saints alumni, supporters, and friends,

Today is Give to CSS Day, and I wanted to share a quick story from this past week that shows exactly where your support goes.

We just got back late last night from our spring break trip to Myrtle Beach. It was one of the best trips we’ve had since I’ve been here. Because I started the planning process early and connected with the right people, we were able to get our players on courses like TPC Myrtle Beach and the Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina—places that, honestly, have not been realistic for us in the past. They were incredibly generous to us. For our players, it completely changes their experience. They get to see and play places they otherwise wouldn’t, and it shows them that this program is committed to providing as much as it can for them.

Then Saturday happened.

The blizzard in Minneapolis cancelled our return flights, and what was supposed to be a travel day turned into four extra days in Myrtle Beach. From the players’ perspective, it was great—more sun, more golf, more time together. From my side, it meant scrambling to find housing, extend rental cars, and manage a situation that changed quickly. What was planned as a five-day trip turned into nine, nearly doubling the overall cost.

Our budget is limited, so I work carefully to stretch every dollar as far as possible to give our players a strong experience. There isn’t much margin for something like this.

The added cost from this situation isn’t something we can absorb within our existing budget. Our spring trip is already funded in large part through fundraising, so this simply creates a larger gap that we now need to cover.

That’s where today comes in.
