Quick question for the entrepreneurs on here…

When was the last time you stepped back and actually thought about your business?

Not worked in it…
Not checked things off a list…
But really looked at it and reflected on…

What’s working…
What’s not…
What needs to change…

Most of us don’t give ourselves that space because we are too busy being “busy”.

So, I decided to create a space where you can slow down and truly think about your business and who you are being as its owner…

On April 20th, in Duluth, I’m leading a half-day workshop called The Entrepreneur Reset.

A small, in-person gathering to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your business in a more intentional way.

If you (and your business) have been needing that…I’d love to have you there.

Feeling stuck or overwhelmed in your business? Join this Duluth-based entrepreneur workshop to reset, reflect, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Today was the Duluth Chamber’s 3rd annual Women in Leadership Conference, and it was such a great day! Over 450 women were there…which says so much about this community and how deeply women here show up for one another.

I had the honor of leading a breakout session on Identifying Your Top 11 Leadership Blindspots, with about 130 women in the room. The conversations, reflections, and feedback were powerful and such a reminder of how meaningful this work is.

I was so busy listening, learning, and connecting that I barely took any photos… but here are a few glimpses from the day.

Thank you Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce for creating and supporting such an amazing event!

A Coaching Story: From Burnout to Balance: Jenny’s Year of Transformation

When "Jenny" first came to coaching, she was an executive at a major hospital — highly successful on the outside, but completely exhausted on the inside. She felt frustrated at work, disconnected at home, and overwhelmed by a constant sense of “never enough.” She’d stopped taking care of herself and was running on autopilot.

Over the course of our year together, Jenny transformed not just how she worked, but how she lived. She began leading from ownership instead of burnout. She started asking for what she needed, setting healthy boundaries, communicating clearly, and taking care of herself again — body, mind, and spirit.

Today, she’s thriving. She’s being recognized by her leadership team, her impact at work is stronger than ever, and she’s leaving the office on time to be fully present with her husband and kids. She exercises, eats well, and even has regular hair appointments (something she laughed about never doing before!). Most importantly, she feels grounded, confident, and fulfilled.

Jenny told me, “You helped me see through the fog — you saved me from living my life in overwhelm.” We both were teary during her final session, celebrating how far she’s come. Coaching didn’t fix her life — it helped her reclaim it.

✨ I have 2 spaces open in my coaching practice right now.

If you don't want 2025 to repeat in 2026, and you want to see what is possible when you lead your life from intention instead of burnout, message me - let's talk.

This week I was interviewed on the Whole Mom Podcast. I spoke about motherhood, leadership, how I stay centered on hard days (and how I had to recently put myself in a "10 minute time-out" because I totally lost my cool - and the valuable lesson I learned from that).

I shared things that are lighting me up these days, and the mantra I focus on during days when things don't go my way.

My hope is that you will find value in this podcast whether you are a mother, a father, a leader of teams, or someone who is helping to care for children...take a listen and let me know what you think!

Moms—what you do every day is leadership.
It may not always look like a boardroom or feel like a title…
But make no mistake: you are leading.

You set the vision for your family—
What matters.
How we show up.
What you say yes to, and what you protect time for.
You are a visionary leader.

You help your kids name their feelings, regulate their nervous systems, and practice compassion.
You model what it means to pause, breathe, repair, and begin again.
You are a coach of emotional intelligence.

You manage blowout diapers, missed naps, work deadlines, sibling fights, and surprise school projects—
With no warning and almost no rest.
You are a crisis manager and master of flexibility.

You hold the family calendar in your brain.
You coordinate school pickups, meal plans, permission slips, birthday gifts, and dentist appointments.
You are the COO of your household.

You create the culture of your home—
How your family celebrates, apologizes, rests, and repairs.
You’re building identity, resilience, and worth.
You are a culture builder.

And all of that?
Is just at home.

At work, we show up with empathy, wisdom, and quiet tenacity.
We prioritize with precision.
We advocate, we hold boundaries, we build teams and ideas and dreams.
We’re redefining what leadership looks like. Every. Single. Day.

But we’re also tired.
We’re pulled in multiple directions.
We cancel meetings when kids are sick.
We take calls in minivans and write emails while sitting in school parking lots.
We want to grow in our careers and be present for our families.
And honestly? That tension is exhausting.

That’s why I created the “Motherhood is Leadership” workshop.

Not to give you more to do.
But to offer you space to breathe.
To reflect.
To connect with other brilliant, real, exhausted mothers who get it.

We’ll talk about boundaries, burnout, balance, and belonging.
We’ll laugh. We’ll maybe cry.
And you’ll leave feeling more seen, more grounded, and more clear.

This is for career-driven moms who are doing it all—whether anyone sees it or not. Give yourself this gift this Mother's Day weekend and join me...

Just returned home from an inspiring 2-week trip to Belize! 🌎

While I was there, I had the privilege of facilitating a workshop with fellow Life and Business Coach, Hannah Montero, for 26 incredible Belizean Entrepreneurs. It was an afternoon full of rich conversations around the unique challenges business owners face, overcoming our money stories, and the importance of coming together as a community to support each other.

Bringing this kind of coaching to Belize fills my heart and soul, and this retreat was no exception. And let’s talk about the location—outdoors, right next to a river, with the jungle as our backdrop? If that’s not the perfect office, I don’t know what is! 🌿✨

Feeling grateful and inspired by the connections made and the work we did together. Excited to continue supporting incredible entrepreneurs as they grow and thrive.

The Power of Positive Feedback – and Where It Really Begins

This week, I coached a leader managing a small team. She realized she had a habit of withholding positive feedback, focusing instead on constructive feedback.

But before we dove into strategies for giving more positive reinforcement, I asked her a simple question: “How often do you positively acknowledge yourself for what you’re doing well?”

She paused for a moment and then said, “Rarely… I almost never do that.”

That was our starting point.

👉 Here’s the truth: If we don’t take time to acknowledge ourselves for the things we’re doing well, it’s hard to genuinely acknowledge others. Leadership starts within.

As we moved into discussing how to give her team more positive feedback, she raised another great point: “What if it feels awkward or inauthentic when I start doing this?”

I told her what I tell so many leaders I work with:

This is a muscle. It’s not something you’re naturally great at overnight—it’s a practice. And like any practice, it takes time and intentional effort.

So, I asked her:

“Are you more committed to practicing positive reinforcement? Or more committed to staying uncomfortable?”

She chose to commit. To lean into the discomfort. To practice.

And I reminded her of something important: Leaders acknowledge people who inspire them.

So now, I’ll ask you:

💡 How often are you acknowledging yourself for what you’re doing well?

And where could you start practicing this—not just with yourself but with those you lead?

Leadership is about growth, and growth starts with these small but powerful steps.

This morning was a big milestone for our family—my youngest daughter Rosa started toddler preschool. As I dropped her off, I felt a mix of emotions: pride in her readiness for this step, tenderness at the thought of her growing independence, and a touch of nervousness about this new phase for both of us.

For the past year, I’ve been balancing a part-time work schedule (16 hours a week) with being home with my kids, particularly Rosa. It’s been a lesson in focus—getting a lot done in limited time—while also navigating the tricky balance of building my coaching practice and savoring these fleeting years with little ones.

I often feel pulled between wanting to create more work, while also wanting to slow down and be with my girls. So, throughout this last year, I’ve had to keep reminding myself that these girls will only be little for so long and that there will be plenty of time for me to pour into work once they are older.

Today marks the beginning of more time for my work, and I feel equally excited and reflective. Motherhood and career both hold deep meaning for me, and I’m ready to embrace this next chapter of growth in both areas.

So here I am, in a quiet house, with lots of time on my hands to think about what I get to create next in my work and life as I have a bit more time to nourish this part of me outside of Mothering…

Feeling tender and excited…a lot of “both and” today. Yet also very ready for what is to come…

How have you navigated similar transitions in balancing work and parenthood? I’d love to hear your experiences.

It’s not everyday that I do a public speaking gig in a Flannel shirt…but when it’s Flannel Friday at the Minnesota Community Education Association Conference, you better believe I’ll be participating 😉

We had a packed room of people who are working in education - people who are doing really important jobs, who care deeply about their work and contribution to education - who are stressed, overworked and feeling pulled in multiple directions.

I spoke to them about Time Management Strategies in Leadership and how they can learn to hold better boundaries and say No more often, so they can say Yes to the things that matter most to them.

At the end of my talk, I asked if everyone had at least one action step they could take that is in line with their own priorities (instead of someone else’s priority)…and the room answered with a resounding YES 👏🏼 Which I call a success!

I’m honored I was able to support these community educators today and make a difference in their lives. And, it was even more fun because we all got to wear our best, fanciest flannels 😁 (ha - only in Minnesota right?!)
