For Chloe Davis, volleyball has never been just a sport.
It has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. Her love for the game began at just two years old, and now, more than a decade later, #12 is preparing to take the court for one final season wearing the Blue and Gold of the Rye Cove Lady War Eagles.
And she is hungrier than ever.
Davis enters her senior season following a memorable 2025 campaign for Rye Cove. The Lady War Eagles competed for a district championship and earned a trip to regional play for the first time since 2021. It was a season that helped put Rye Cove volleyball back on the map — but for Davis and her teammates, there is still unfinished business.
The goal is simple: bring championships back to the Eagles Nest.
But this season means more to Davis than trophies, banners, and wins.
It's her last ride with the girls who have become her sisters.
Every practice. Every bus ride. Every pregame moment. Every celebration after a big point. Every time the Lady War Eagles take the floor together.
Davis wants to soak it all in.
Because she knows how quickly that final season can disappear.
Chloe is the kind of player coaches dream of having and the kind of teammate every player wants beside them. She represents what it means to be a Lady War Eagle — competing with everything she has while never forgetting the teammates standing beside her.

The admiration she has for the girls wearing Blue and Gold beside her is second to none. Davis understands that God-given talent can only take a player so far. Volleyball requires trust, sacrifice and teammates willing to leave everything on the floor for one another.
And Chloe knows she has those teammates beside her.
Right now, the nerves are there.
So is the thought every senior athlete eventually has to face:
What happens when it's over?
But there will be plenty of time to think about that later.
Because on August 25, inside the Eagles Nest, Chloe Davis and her Lady War Eagle sisters will step onto the court to face the Gate City Lady Blue Devils.
When that first match arrives, the nerves can disappear.
The thoughts about the final game can wait.
The only thing that matters will be the six Lady War Eagles on the court, the teammates and coaches behind them, and the Blue and Gold they represent.
It's time to lock in.
From the opening serve of her senior season until the final whistle of her final match, Davis has one mission:
Give everything she has.
Chase the championships.
Fight for the girl standing next to her.
Make memories with her sisters.
And leave the Rye Cove volleyball program knowing that #12 never held anything back.
Eventually, that final whistle will come.
When it does, Chloe can finally take that breath, look back at the journey that began with a little girl falling in love with volleyball, and know she gave the game, her teammates and her school everything she had.
Wherever life takes Chloe Davis after this season, one thing will never change.
She will always be a Rye Cove War Eagle.
