‘Between Your Love & Mine’ the public architecture installation on Detroit’s east side explores themes of borders, collaboration & access.

We sat down with Canadian curator & writer Stefan Novakovic to learn more about how the installation came together & why cross border collaboration is perhaps more relevant than ever.

The installation, which features works by Canadian & American architecture & design firms Castor Design SOCA OSD (Office for Strategy + Design) Tura Cousins Wilson is on view in the Little Village neighborhood. While not technically a park, the River Trail provides the neighborhood with 8 acres of dedicated greenspace that is free & open to the public.

Slow Stitch Detroit hosted an immersive exhibition & open studios experience, celebrating the power of collaboration in slow fashion at the Detroit Month of Design.

“Collective Power” featured 14 one-of-a-kind jackets created by the inaugural cohort of Slow Stitch Designers, all committed to building a fashion future that centers people, community, and the planet.

Working in collaborative design teams, artists transformed reclaimed textiles and materials into original garments exploring the jacket as a symbol of protection, identity, and power.
