A severe storm rolled through Belle Isle this afternoon and caused a lot of damage to the island. Thankfully, our crews were all safe and no one from our club was injured. We can’t say as much for the boats. The boat in the tree is called “The Spirit of Belle Isle” but we know the real spirit of the island is not so easily broken.

Belle Isle Conservancy is seeking volunteers to help cleanup the island on Friday, meeting at the aquarium at 10:30 and we encourage our rowers and supporters to volunteer in whatever capacity you are able.

We can’t believe the support we’ve received over this challenge. We had 3 generous donors offer to match donations AND we got an additional $2500 from Rocket for being in the top 5 organizations based on donation amount. That means DBCC received $21,070 just in one week! You all are INCREDIBLE!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. This is what teamwork and pulling together look like!
