Up at 4:30am to take Pilates at 5:30am…
Left home again early to get in an 8am cardio session. Taught at 9, 10:30 and 11:45, ran an errand with Mr Man, home by 2 to let out the chickens, just finished baking two loaves of sourdough (that I shaped and had in fridge last night) and make a fresh batch of hummus.
It’s amazing how much you can accomplish if you want to!
(Aaaaaand my day is FAR from over!)

If it’s worth doing - do it.

I’ve been a busy little bee - completed my Pilates mat and reformer certs and have been working on designing a 12 week nutrition support workshop.

Plus teaching 8-10 classes a week, taking classes and a fast paced 4-5 miles daily soooooo….

Heading home from a wonderful vacation. Even with many MANY indulgences, here’s looking at you triple scoop sugar cone- all of my clothes still fit. Vacation doesn’t destroy your waistline- bringing vacation habits home does.

I’ve said YES to not setting an alarm, drinks on the beach and margaritas at dinner. We are enjoying ice cream and juicy IPAs and whatever om draft sounds good.
I’m embracing what I truly want instead of what I think I should have.

I’m also saying YES to daily walks that are at least 4 miles, my staple breakfast of hard boiled eggs and yogurt with fruit. We have healthy snacks and food for lunch at our rental and are only going out for dinner.

When we get home, vacation will be over and we get right back on track with minimal damage. The puffiness from alcohol will fade after a few days of clean eating and these memories of a carefree week with my husband will last forever.

Balance.

A walk will be first,
so my engine stays humming,
get in all 10,000 steps
before my beach bumming.

Third day of vacation,
What was I thinking?
I’ve spent these last two days
Overzealously drinking!

Our fridge here is packed
with all healthy foods,
this can help balance out
being
in the drinking mood

If most of your actions
still support your health goals
imperfections when traveling
will make for less of a toll.

Off I go to get dressed
and lace up these shoes,
I’ve seen the Yeti cooler
and it’s full of booze!

Changing your mindset is the most importanf step to better health and wellness.

Progress not perfection.
Balance over extremes.
Lifestyle instead of diet.

If you would have told me that I could be a healthy weight- eating carbs, enjoying treats and not having to say no to anything I would not have believed you.
Yet here I am.
