As we look back on the season, we’re reminded that Colorado Ski Country USA member ski areas show up for their communities in ways that go FAR beyond the slopes.

Echo Mountain helped plow out nearby residents when county crews couldn’t reach them. Eldora helped support local businesses impacted by the Caribou Village Shopping Center fire. Loveland Ski Area opened its doors to motorists stranded by the 70-car pileup on I-70, helping shuttle people to the resort so they could warm up and receive medical evaluation.

Around here, ski areas are part of the community… they are neighbors, gathering places, and steady hands, especially when we need it most.

Happy Earth Day! The mountains give us so much, and caring for them is part of how we show up for the places we love. Across Colorado resorts, stewardship takes many forms, from renewable energy and more efficient buildings to composting and waste reduction, ecosystem restoration, water conservation efforts, and lots of other behind-the-scenes work to care for our slopes. If you’re not already thinking about next ski season… what are you doing?

As you start lining up those powder days (now’s the time 👀), don’t forget - how you get there matters. Colorado’s Mountain Express Lanes help you avoid traffic on I-70, offering choices for a more reliable trip up the corridor.

A few quick reminders before you head up:
NEVER weave across the solid lines. Doing so is dangerous and will land you a $75 fine.
ALWAYS enter and exit Colorado’s Express Lanes through the dashed lines ONLY.
Don’t drive in the Mountain Express Lanes when they are closed. They are only open during peak travel periods and when closed, they function as emergency shoulders. Before entering the lane, make sure you check overhead signage to avoid fines.
The Express Lanes are designed to help keep everyone moving. Be sure you know the rules before you go. Check out the link in our bio to get dialed... your first-chair self will thank you.

Great things are still happening on the hill. This past weekend, Gold Medalist Mikaela Shiffrin spent the day at Copper with Share Winter Foundation hosting a group of young women. Days like this build confidence, open doors, and help young people see themselves in the mountains 🩷

And winter showed up this week. Loveland, Copper, Arapahoe Basin, and Winter Park each enjoyed powder days with 8+ inches falling. There’s more in store before we call it quits… check our story for a roundup of upcoming events, and we’ll see you out there for some spring laps.

Lifts are still spinning and we’re not done yet!!!

We’re out skiing at five mountains and making the most of every spring day. It’s impossible to complain about “a few more” laps 🔁

This season asked a lot, and mountain teams answered. From ski patrol to snow makers, lift crews and groomers, mechanics, instructors, food & beverage teams, parking staff, and everyone in between, resort workers showed up and kept things going. Vacationers got their mountain time and powder hounds still found their turns.

THANK YOU to the people behind it all… the mountain magic never happens by accident.
