In this drill, our coach is using an elevated block to help this gymnast develop key handstand and cartwheel techniques. We’re focusing on pushing through the shoulders, getting the hands up quickly, and learning to be light on the hands—all essential building blocks for safe, strong tumbling.

The little details matter, and mastering these basics now creates the foundation for bigger skills later. 🤸‍♀️

Big skills start with great training tools!

Our gymnasts use the Tumbl Trak Air Floor to safely build confidence, technique, and power while working on advanced skills like back layouts. The extra bounce and forgiving surface help athletes focus on proper form as they progress toward their tumbling goals.

At The Tumble Hub, we’re committed to helping every gymnast grow stronger, safer, and more confident with every pass. 🤸‍♀️

This gymnast is working on her cast to squat on, transitioning to the high bar, and connecting her long hang kip! Today’s focus was all about body position and control during the transition to help build stronger, cleaner bar skills.

Learning proper technique on bars takes strength, timing, and repetition — and she’s putting in the work 💪💙

⭐️ Beginner cartwheel progress at The Tumble Hub 🤸‍♀️

Learning cartwheels starts with strong basics! Today we worked on:
✔️ Hand and foot placement using a cartwheel training mat
✔️ Keeping legs straight
✔️ Landing in a wide “starfish” position ⭐️

Using simple visual cues like “make a starfish” helps our beginner gymnasts understand body positioning while building confidence, coordination, and proper cartwheel technique.

Every great gymnast starts with the fundamentals 💙

These cartwheel stations are designed to help our beginner gymnasts understand hand placement, weight transfer, and which leg leads the cartwheel. The scrunchie around the foot is a simple reminder for gymnasts to remember their lead leg while practicing ✨

Station 1 focuses on getting comfortable putting weight on their hands by placing hands on one side of a floor beam and jumping their legs over.

Station 2 works on cartwheel technique off an elevated mat using visual targets to help with direction, hand placement, and body control.

Drills like these help gymnasts build:
• Cartwheel confidence
• Proper lead leg awareness
• Strong hand support
• Coordination and body control
• Beginner tumbling fundamentals

These tumblers have been working hard on round offs, back handsprings, and back tucks — but front walkovers and tumbling out of them are a completely different feeling!

Using the barrel mat helps athletes learn the correct body position, timing, and movement pattern for front walkovers and front tumbling connections in a safer, more controlled way.

But don’t be fooled 😅 the barrel mat definitely makes it easier. The goal is building confidence and technique first before taking the skill to the floor 💪
