Today, we want to share another story that truly reflects the heart of our community — the story of the Williams and Hinkle.

When an unexpected emergency impacted their dock dogs, they were faced with difficult decisions and overwhelming stress. In moments like these, no one should have to choose between their beloved companion and the care they need. Because of the KYDD Emergency Fund, we were able to step in and offer support when it mattered most.
This is why the Emergency Fund exists — to stand beside our members during their hardest days, to remind them they are not alone, and to help keep our dock dog family strong.

On this Saturday, we want to share something deeply meaningful—one of the many stories that will be told over the coming weeks through the Kentucky Emergency Fund.

Behind every story is a beloved dock dog… a teammate, a best friend, family. And when a medical emergency happens, it’s more than unexpected—it’s overwhelming, emotional, and often heartbreaking. No one ever plans for those moments.

Because of this community, and because of the Kentucky Emergency Fund, help has been there when it was needed most. These stories are filled with gratitude from members who didn’t have to face those hardest moments alone.

Over the next few months, we will continue to raise funds so we can keep showing up for one another—so that when the unthinkable happens, support is already in place.
