We're going to try and start our league tonight around 5ish at Jackson. The wind is blowing but it isn't supposed to start raining until after 8 so it should work out perfect. Hope to see some people tonight!

Hey guys! Spring is finally here and the weather is starting to break, which means DISC GOLF. We're ready to get our league here in Danville up and going. At this point in time we are a bit unorganized. A few guys have discussed starting up a singles league on Monday nights at 5, with a possible doubles group that meets on Saturday mornings. All ideas are open to be discussed but here is the idea that I have. Monday night singles league that meets at 5pm, everyone throws 5 dollars, 3 of which go to 1st 2nd and 3rd place payouts for the nights and the remaining two dollars will go into a club fund. The club fund could be used for things like improving the course by adding signs to the back 9, a fund for more trees we could plant to improve some of the holes, or things of that nature. The club as a whole will vote on what to spend that money on at the end of fall when weather starts to turn. At the end of every league night results will be posted on facebook, maybe we could do an end of the season type winner to see who had the best overall score or something? All ideas we can discuss this Monday April 11th around 5ish at Jackson Park. Share this with all of our disc golf friends, comment with any suggestions or ideas, and spread the word and lets try and grow our league!

Jordan Clark and his shadow exhibit fine sidearm form launching from the newly installed tee pad on the downhill 303-foot No. 14 at Jackson Park. All the pads, plus some alternates, are now in on the new back 9, and they are beauties — 4x12 concrete. Next up is signage and benches in preparation for hosting our first tournament(s) in 2016. Big thanks to the City of Danville and Commissioner Rich Serres for all the good work so far. Check it out!

The folks at Discraft would like to know what you think of the putters you used during the Ace Race. The above link is how you can give them feedback. Oblige them if you are so inclined.

Just got the Ace Race gear in and am pretty impressed by the players pack swag. Putters have a good feel, stamp and shirt sport an aggressive design, plus a cool mini and bottle opener. The winner's prize is sweet as well: a kind of cheap bag stuffed with 8 mostly primo plastic Discraft discs. Good deal all the way around.

So, don't forget. Noon tee off this Sunday for two rounds of Ace Race play. Should be done be 3. They'll be a round of doubles afterward, $5 entry, so stick around for a full day of disc golf action at Jackson Park in Danville.

Coming to a course near you soon.

http://dgscene.com/tournaments/First_Run_Disc_Golf_Ace_Race_2015/register. That's the link, boys, and time is running out to sign up. There are 15 who are in so far, leaving only 5 spots left in the minimum of 20 player packs. I have to order by Saturday. So far, only John 'Stacks' Mitchell has paid up among the Danville gang, which is highly embarrassing considering this is our first event and our course. So sign up now or be shut out.
