🦈 It's Shark Week!

Some of the best diving moments are the ones you never plan.

We were out filming our new "Get to Know Undersea Divers" video when Lana spotted a large fin breaking the surface. At first, we all thought it was a mola mola. Dave grabbed his binoculars and quickly realized it was actually a giant basking shark.

We finished filming, thinking we'd probably missed our opportunity. But when we looked back, the shark was still calmly cruising just offshore.

So we geared up and slipped into the water.

What followed was one of the most incredible experiences our team has ever had in New England. While basking sharks do visit our waters, it's incredibly rare to have one this close to shore...and even rarer to have the chance to observe one underwater.

Watching such a massive yet gentle animal glide effortlessly through the ocean was an experience we'll never forget. It felt like the perfect ending to a day that had already been special, and we're excited to finally share a little piece of it with all of you.
