National Dance Day is coming! Join us Saturday, September 19 at Stage One for FREE dance classes for ages 4 through adult! Congratulations to these amazing young artists! After two days of rehearsals on the CPAC stage, their talent is evident! We are so proud of these dancers and all they have created for this year’s Young Choreographers Showcase.

Come see them take the stage Thursday at 7:30 at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center. We promise you’ll want to see what these young artists have been working on! 💜

Come see the story unfold in our winter production, A Tchaikovsky Celebration: Swan Lake Suite & Aurora’s Wedding, December 18 & 19 at CPAC. We promise there will still be plenty of drama on stage! 🦢

In honor of our upcoming Young Choreographers Showcase, here’s a little throwback to our 2011 showcase! Back then, we held the show in January at the Backdoor Playhouse at TTU, and today our annual showcase has found a new home at CPAC in the fall. While the location and time of year have changed, the heart of the program remains the same. Our students take a class that dives into the inner workings of choreography for dance, learning how to create movement, develop ideas, work with dancers, and bring their artistic vision to life before having the opportunity to create and perform their own work on stage. Encouraging and inspiring young artists has always been a major goal of our program, and one of the most rewarding parts has been watching so many of our dancers take that experience with them after high school and go on to teach, create, choreograph, and inspire others. More to come on this year’s young choreographers, but for now, enjoy a little inspiration from the past!

Weekend rehearsals with Focus Director Ms. J are in full swing! Our Focus dancers are preparing for our winter production, A Tchaikovsky Celebration, and Ms. J is diving into the artistry and storytelling of our leads during rehearsals. We love seeing the dancers explore their characters and bring these beautiful roles to life!

Join us for our Young Choreographers Showcase on September 3 at 7:30 PM at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center! There is something special about giving dancers the freedom to create. Our Young Choreographers Showcase gives our dancers the opportunity to step beyond the role of performer and explore what it means to create movement, tell a story, and share an idea through dance. We believe in inspiring dancers to be curious, take creative risks, and discover their own artistic voice. Come see what they’ve created and support these young artists as they take the stage!
