MARK has given Kayak Lessons in many places including; U.M.B.C., Dundalk Community College, Harford Community College, A.P.G. Outdoor REC., Canton Kayak, Girl Scouts, Harford County Parks & Rec. Training includes safety and paddling skills. Advanced skills including re-entry and rolling are available. MARK loves to introduce others to this wonderful sport. 🌊 A New Era for the Susquehanna and Chesapeake Bay 🌊

On October 2, 2025, a landmark settlement was announced for the Conowingo Dam—a deal decades in the making that will transform the future of the Bay. Governor Wes Moore, the Maryland Department of the Environment, Constellation Energy, and environmental advocates reached an agreement that ties the dam’s re-licensing to real, enforceable restoration action.

Constellation will invest hundreds of millions of dollars into projects that matter: cleaning up trash and debris, restoring freshwater mussels, improving fish passage, managing invasive species, and protecting shorelines and wetlands. Even better—groups like Waterkeepers Chesapeake and the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association will oversee the work for the next 50 years, ensuring accountability and lasting change.

This is more than a settlement—it’s a promise: a healthier Chesapeake Bay, a thriving $3.2 billion Bay economy, and a cleaner future for generations to come.
