Upcoming Patched Ruck: Glow Ruck🏅

Get ready to earn your Glow Ruck Patch! This ruck will feature 5 easy miles through the country roads of Cochranton after sunset, complete with fireflies, glow sticks, and a later-than-usual start time—perfect for building miles, challenging yourself, and having fun with your crew.

Patch Requirements:
• Complete the full ruck distance with a backpack/ruck of your choice

National Trails Day was the perfect excuse to explore a brand-new route as GORUCK Crawford County took on the Mount Pleasant Loop for the first time.

The reviews were overwhelmingly positive—great company, a beautiful trail, and plenty to see along the way. While the miles rolled by, the group found themselves stopping to admire mushrooms of all shapes and sizes, fascinating little creatures hiding in the forest, and even a few pleasing fungus beetles going about their day. Sometimes the best part of a trail isn’t the destination—it’s slowing down long enough to notice the details.

A big win for both the route and the crew. We’d say Mount Pleasant earned a spot on the “let’s do that again” list.

Happy National Trails Day! 🥾🌿

Today feels like a good reminder of one of the best parts of rucking—getting outside and appreciating the trails and backroads right here in Crawford County.

From shaded rail trails and creekside miles to muddy country roads, rolling hills, and quiet evening routes, we’ve got no shortage of places to throw on a ruck and get moving. Every trail has a little something different: a view worth stopping for, wildlife along the way, conversations with good people, and sometimes just the simple reset that comes from putting one foot in front of the other outdoors.

Big thanks to everyone who helps care for and maintain these spaces so our community can keep enjoying them. If you get outside today—even for one mile—take it in and enjoy the trail.

Upcoming Patched Ruck: 1776 Ruck 🇺🇸🏅

Get ready to earn your 1776 Patch! This ruck will feature patriotic miles, teamwork, and a chance to celebrate America’s founding with your crew—perfect for building miles, challenging yourself, and having fun while honoring the Fourth of July.

On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, officially separating the 13 American colonies from Great Britain. Drafted primarily by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration laid out the reasons for independence and established America’s foundational principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In honor of that historic moment, we’ll ruck 17.76 miles and encourage everyone to wear red, white, and blue and carry Old Glory at the front of the formation.

Patch Requirements:
• Complete 17.76 miles with a backpack/ruck of your choice
• Advanced: Complete 17.76 miles in one ruck event
• Intermediate: Complete 17.76 miles within one week
• Beginner: Complete 17.76 miles throughout the month
• Weight: 20 lb plate for men / 10 lb plate for women

About the Patch:
This patch is designed to celebrate freedom, perseverance, and the spirit of independence. According to GORUCK, patches are earned by completing themed or challenge-based rucks that test endurance, teamwork, and grit—just like the official GORUCK events.

12 Mile Timed Patched Ruck Recap 🏅

Huge shoutout to the three who showed up Saturday morning and earned every bit of their 12 Mile Timed Ruck patch!

This one was simple on paper and demanding in real life: 12 miles under weight, a required pace of 17:30/mile or faster, and a 3 hour 30 minute time cap. No shortcuts. No easy button. Just steady movement and the discipline to keep the pace when the miles start stacking up.

And they didn’t just finish—they beat the standard!

The crew crossed the line in 3:15:39, averaging an impressive pace, finishing 14 minutes and 21 seconds under the cutoff. That’s strong work over a long stretch and a real test of grit, pacing, and mindset, believe us.

Big respect to Ryan and the crew for showing up early, locking in, and getting it done. That patch was earned the right way.

Last Wednesday night’s planned under Meadville ruck had to pivot thanks to high water, but the miles still got in.

Big shoutout to Ryan and Amy for rolling with the change and putting in 6 solid miles while also supporting Cans for Wishes along the way. Sometimes ruck plans don’t go exactly how expected—routes change, weather shifts, and backup plans happen—but showing up and getting after it anyway is part of the fun. Grateful for members who keep moving no matter what and continue supporting great things in our community.
