Mastery is in the mystery.
As a child how long did you stay in the shallow end of the pool, before developing the courage to go into the deep end? Some people are still stuck in the shallow end of the pool where they stand without any effort. They never experience the mystery of what they can achieve. That is a sad and superficial existence. When you step to the edge between the shallow and deep end you are faced with the unknown. That is your opportunity to find out if you're capable of swimming. But many of us don't every try because we care too much about what others think. We care too much about failure, so we never try.
Yes the shallow end is safe and comfortable. It requires no effort to keep your head above the water. But you will never discover your magic chemicals. You will make up stories in your head that will give you some emotional stimulation, but its not the real thing. Its artificial and superficial. Only when you actually confront your fear, you step to that edge will you experience emotions that are natural and fundamental. This is what separates fundamental people from superficial people. People that are principled and follow common sense vs those that are performers and follow common opinion. Stay wild.
