Asteya is the third Yama in the Yoga Sutras and is often translated as non-stealing.
But Asteya goes beyond simply not taking things that don’t belong to us. It invites us to consider how we respect the time, energy, space, and experiences of ourselves and others.
Sometimes practicing Asteya looks like respecting someone’s boundaries.
Sometimes it looks like celebrating another person’s success without comparing it to your own.
And sometimes it means recognizing that what we already have, and who we already are, is enough.
A reminder that we don’t always need more to feel whole.
