Fall League for Clayton Co****le is underway! This is the first of 7 weeks and Monday night had a lot of fun and competitive matches. The lights worked great (TY United Rentals!) and we’ll be back at it tonight with Tuesday teams. 🌽🕳️ LFG!!

Our first full week of Fall League starts tomorrow! 🍂🌽🕳️ We maxed out our 40 spots which means we will have 8 teams per night and roughly ~300 total players throwing bags Monday - Friday over the next 7 weeks of play! We continue to be humbled by our amazing community of players and appreciate their continued interest in Clayton Co****le! This is a non-profit league and team registration fees contribute directly to a number of community-specific initiatives and scholarships for the Clayton and surrounding area through the continued efforts of Clayton Business and Community Association (CBCA).

We also want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to the following organizations and people who, without them, we would be unable to host our league this Fall:

Weichert Realtors - Julie Rogers (Clayton Co****le Committee member) and her colleagues, Dave Hansen and Maggie Hurtado, arranged access to the same parking lot that we used last year, which is a great spot in downtown Clayton. We can't thank them enough for opening their space to us and supporting our players again this year. 🙏 We also greatly appreciate Cup O' Joe Coffee House and Bold Finds who are also connected to our fall location. We encourage you to stop by them for a visit and ! ❤️

United Rentals - Erick Sheldon, local area manager for UR, once again came through in a HUGE way and secured us a portable light to use throughout the season. That light is a lifesaver and they were incredibly easy to work with and overly generous. We hope you will think of them for any upcoming rental needs you may have!💡👏

"How can I get better at 🌽🕳️?" is a question that comes up a lot.

(skip to the pics and read the observations there if this is too long of an intro 😁)

Unfortunately, there isn't a "easy button" to press that will help you improve and the honest truth is that old fashioned practice and competitive reps over time are truly the best ways to level up, but you can also gain a LOT of insight by studying the mechanics of other players. A great way to do that is to look at pictures or videos. To that end, I am sharing a few new pictures from our summer playoffs last month that you might find interesting.

Caveat - I happened to catch a picture of only a handful of players "at point of release" and a still image is only a small moment in the overall throw sequence, but the ones below allow us to learn from several things... arm path at release, hand position after release, what is happening with lower body, direction of bag flight, and more. Each image lists some observations about the above items and there are a wide range of players shown here. Maybe we'll do a Part Deux version soon to capture some similar images from many of our other players next season! Let us know if this is helpful at all!

This is so cool! Acl Pro Colin Hodet bringing that big smile and lots of fun energy to the Today Show on Wednesday! 👏 So fun to see the game of 🌽 🕳️ in the spotlight and Colin is a great ambassador. The hosts were also great sports and having a blast which is what the game is all about. Colin has played in some local games near us, including the weekly tourney at West Coast Co****le not too long ago!
