Oakhurst Sierra Rotary was proud to present a $2,000 donation to Yosemite High School Football. Coach Jeremiah Aycock joined us at today’s meeting to accept the contribution, which will help support equipment, safety needs, and a strong season ahead for our local student‑athletes.

Investing in youth programs is investing in our community, and we’re grateful for the work Coach Aycock and his staff pour into these students.

The Oakhurst Sierra Rotary Club is hard at work! Our scholarship committee is currently diving into a pile of impressive applications from the talented seniors at Yosemite High School ,Minarets High School, and Glacier High School.
We are thrilled to announce that this year, we will be awarding ten $1,500 scholarships to help our local students reach their higher education goals!
Why we do it:
Youth Services is a core Avenue of Service for Rotary International. Since 1978, our "Noon Club" has been dedicated to supporting the dreams and ambitions of our mountain area youth. We believe that by investing in these students today, we are building a brighter, stronger community for tomorrow.

Friends of the Oakhurst Branch Library and the Grand Librarian of Oakhurst stopped by to talk about the Summer Reading Program and other opportunities at the Library. What great opportunities for our kids! We were happy to donate to such a fun program.

Michael Van Buren, President of Golden Chain Theatre, shared with us the importance that being a part of local live theatre has on kids becoming functioning members of society. We were happy to sponsor 4 children in the Summer Kids Program and 4 children in the Summer Teen Program. Our Club is honored to be a part of such an amazing community! Although, our President is a little goofy. 😆

In the heart of Oakhurst, where the Fresno River winds through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, lies a 3.5-mile ribbon of green that serves as the community's backyard. The **Oakhurst River Parkway** is more than just a trail; it is a testament to the vision and tireless commitment of one woman: **Sandy Brinley**.

The story of the Parkway began in 1992, when Sandy and a small group of dedicated citizens looked at the local waterways—the Fresno River, Oak Creek, and China Creek—and saw a dream. They envisioned a space where the community could reconnect with nature, away from the hum of Highways 41 and 49.

For over three decades, Sandy has been the driving force behind this transformation. What started as a goal to restore natural resources has grown into a thriving ecological haven.

As we walk these trails today, we are walking through Sandy Brinley’s legacy. We thank her for her enduring passion for the land we call home. Because of Sandy, the beauty of Eastern Madera County is not just something we look at—it is something we get to live in every day.
