Well, Redhead MTB Park Fans, the big day has officially come and gone! We cannot express enough how much yesterday meant to us, and your incredible support is exactly why we do what we do. 🚵‍♂️❤️

The celebration kicked off with inspiring speeches from the amazing people who helped bring this new Trailhead to life. Afterward, we were honored to have the Laurentian, Hibbing, and Chisholm Chambers of Commerce host the official Ribbon Cutting for the new Pump Track & Skills Course! ✂️🎉

Following the ceremony, Ride MN absolutely blew us away with an incredible performance and demonstration on the new track.

And then... the wait was FINALLY over! The Redhead MTB Park Pump Track & Skills Course officially opened to the public. It was a beautiful sight watching riders of all ages and skill levels get out there and session the new lines.

The Redhead MTB Park trails are officially OPEN for the 2026 season! 🌲✨

While you can finally get back on the singletrack, please keep a few things in mind as we put on the finishing touches:

The NEW Trailhead: Still CLOSED until our Grand Opening on May 29th.
Pump Track & Skills Course: Strictly OFF-LIMITS for now.

There is still active construction happening, and we need these areas clear to get them perfect for you!

A key role of my role as RidetheRange Ambassador to Redhead MTB trails is connecting locals from surrounding communities to the booming Iron Range mountain biking scene. I guided this couple numerous times throughout the summer, and I wanted to share the following example of what community outreach and just being a friendly person can do. These two upgraded from older-style bikes to hardcore bikes that handle all conditions. I challenge everyone reading this to create future plans to help introduce more Iron Range people to year-round biking at Redhead MTB Park.

Rhianna and Luke: “Living in Hibbing my whole life, there’s always been plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors — but this past summer, I discovered a whole new favorite. My friend Matthias () was talking about the Redhead Trails, mountain biking, and all the adventures he’s had out there. I was curious and said I’d love to try it!

It worked out perfectly since he’s actually an ambassador for Redhead Trails. My husband Luke used to bike a lot, so of course, he was up for an adventure too — and just like that, we were going mountain biking!

I went into it not really knowing what to expect, but it didn’t take long to fall in love with the challenge. Every ride pushes us in new ways — physically and mentally — but there’s such a rewarding feeling in finishing a tough trail together. It’s helped us bond, clear our heads, and enjoy the outdoors more than ever.

Mountain biking has quickly become something we look forward to every chance we get. With winter fast approaching, we’re hoping to find a good deal on a couple of fat tire bikes so we can keep riding between our kids’ busy sports schedules and still get that same feeling through the colder months.

If you’ve ever thought about trying it — do it! You don’t have to be perfect or fast; you just have to love doing it. You’ll be amazed by how strong you are and what you’re capable of. You might just surprise yourself with how much you fall in love with it.”
