SwingCville We are a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing all things swing to Charlottesville! We love to dance and we love teaching others what we know!

In 2009, a small group of Lindy Hop enthusiasts got together and started brainstorming about how to build a swing dance scene in Charlottesville. That year, SwingCville was formed and we started offering classes on a variety of vintage dances; from Lindy Hop to Balboa to Charleston. As we've grown, we have strived to stick to our original ideals: make swing dance accessible to anybody, teach stron

g fundamentals, and have a whole lotta fun! We are a not-for-profit, volunteer run organization, and it's only through the hard work of dedicated dancers that we can keep this ship sailing. If you stop by for a dance or a lesson, be sure to introduce yourself to us!

Oops! Nevermind. We still don't have access to our second space from our second venue, so we will NOT have a beginner class this week Aug 19 or next week Aug 26. The Balboa series will be held at the Front Porch at 7pm both days. Sorry folks!

A new 4-week beginner series will start on Sept 2!

Because of unexpected venue changes for our intermediate class this month, we will be switching this week's fundamentals class to be a 101 drop-in class suitable for all levels. We will still have a balboa class in the JB's studio.

NO beginner class next week Aug 26. Our beginner series will restart next month on Wed Sept 2.
