Wednesday Night Practice Recap

Another productive night on the Kyber Kai Academy training floor!

We started the evening with our regular forms and drills, and our newer students continue to impress as they advance through Form/Kata 1 — Section 2. Their dedication and willingness to learn have been incredible to watch.

From there, we moved into partner drills and choreography, introducing new students to different choreography modifiers and expanding their understanding of timing, movement, and adaptation. We’ll be diving deeper into these concepts in the coming weeks.

Of course, no practice is complete without stepping into the arena! 🛡️⚔️

The Moff Pit was open, and our saberists geared up for armored combat. Everyone brought their best, including one of our newest members stepping into combat for the first time. Watching new fighters gain confidence and experience is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For us, this is about more than just learning to fight with a saber. It’s about discipline, creativity, camaraderie, personal growth, and building a community around the sports we love.

Every practice brings new challenges, new faces, and new opportunities to grow—and we couldn’t be more excited about where Kyber Kai Academy is headed.

Wednesday Night Practice Recap

Wednesday’s practice was absolutely phenomenal!

We were thrilled to welcome a new saberist to the team, and we were also honored to have representatives from the Charleston Gazette-Mail join us to learn more about Kyber Kai Academy and what we’re building here in West Virginia.

Our fighters put in serious work throughout the evening, focusing on forms, target areas, technique, timing, and distance, followed by plenty of time developing and refining choreography.

And, of course, we couldn't finish practice without putting on the armor and getting into the ring! 🛡️⚔️ Our final rounds were filled with hard-fought bouts, energy, and plenty of fun.

For us, this is about more than just learning to fight with a saber. It's about discipline, camaraderie, personal growth, creativity, and building a community around the sports we love.

Every practice brings new challenges, new faces, and new opportunities to grow—and we couldn't be more excited about where Kyber Kai is headed.
