🏆 Golden paddles and a little Georgia glory! 🏆
Huge congratulations to Karen and Leslie for taking 1st Place in the OC2 division at the Hiawassee Brew Classic this weekend! 🌊🥇
Their hard work, determination, and countless miles on the water paid off with a top spot on the podium. We’re proud to have these two representing Charleston Paddle Club and showing what dedication looks like.
Way to race, ladies! 💪🚣‍♀️🔥

☀️ Flat water. Perfect weather. Race-day energy.
Saturday morning delivered everything we could ask for—glassy conditions, blue skies, and a crew ready to put in the work. From warm-up to race drills, every seat was focused on building speed, timing, and trust.
Days like this remind us why we love being on the water. Now it’s time to take that momentum and carry it into race season. 🚣‍♀️💨

One of our favorite high-intensity race drills is our version of Crazy Eights—a fast-paced workout that challenges power, timing, focus, and the ability to respond instantly as a team.
Last night’s conditions were perfect for race training, and the crew put in the work. Every seat digging deep, every paddler staying connected, and every interval making us a little faster.
The water doesn’t care how much you want it. It rewards the work you put in.

It was great to welcome some familiar faces back into the OC6 last night! Between raising little ones and life’s busy seasons, time away from the boat happens. But as soon as the paddles hit the water, it felt like they’d never left.
A little wind, a lot of laughs, and a great reminder that the canoe is always here when you’re ready to come back. 💙🚣‍♀️

Some of the best paddling memories aren’t made on the perfect days.
Last night, the rain came down, the dragon boat and OC6 still hit the water, and we were reminded that a little weather can’t dampen the spirit of this crew. Then, just when the clouds seemed endless, the sky opened up and painted a beautiful rainbow across the harbor.
It was one of those moments that made everyone pause, take a breath, and appreciate where we were and who we were with.
The miles were great. The rainbow was a bonus. 🌈🚣‍♀️💙
Here’s to finding joy in the journey, beauty in unexpected places, and sharing it all with an incredible paddling community.

Who wants to catch the next rainbow with us?? 🌈

🚣‍♀️ Help Us Add a Little More “Aloha” to Charleston! 🌺
We’re raising $2,500 for a new 2-person outrigger canoe (OC2) that will help our paddlers sharpen skills, train for time trials, compete on bigger stages, and stay active on our beautiful waterways.

🎁 Paddle Perks:
🌊 Donate $25 = “Paddle Like You Stole It” sticker (while supplies last)
Your donation is tax-deductible, supports a volunteer-run nonprofit, and helps grow a healthier, stronger paddling community.

💙 Every dollar moves us closer to launching our new OC2. Every share helps us paddle farther.

🌴🚣‍♀️ Clemson delivered more than just a race, it delivered an experience!
A few of our Charleston Paddle Club paddlers headed up to compete in the OC1 and OC2 events, and while Charleston managed to bring home a little bling 🥇🥈, the real win was the amazing atmosphere and paddling community.

From ukulele music at the pre-race cookout 🎶 to steel drums setting the vibe at the after-party 🥁, this event reminded us why we love this sport. Great competition, great people, and plenty of memories made on and off the water.

Congratulations to everyone who raced, to our members who represented CPC, and showed that paddling is about more than crossing the finish line - it’s about the journey, the friendships, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.
Who wants to join us next year for this race?? 🙋🏻‍♂️

The drummer isn’t just keeping the beat… they’re the heartbeat of the boat. 🐉🥁
They set the rhythm, fire up the crew, keep everyone connected, and help turn 20 individual paddlers into one powerful team. A great drummer brings energy, focus, timing, and just the right amount of “LET’S GO!” when the crew needs it most. 🔥

Think you’ve got the voice, rhythm, and hype to lead a dragon boat crew down the water? 👀
Who wants to try being a drummer at Charleston Paddle Club?

It’s always a Hoot to paddle on the Ashley.
