Charleston Hurricanes Rugby We are a D2 rugby club competing in the CGRU. 2022-26 CGRU Champions. Practice Tues & Thurs 7-9pm

The Charleston Hurricanes Rugby Football Club was founded in 2001. The goals of our club are to promote the sport of rugby in the south, increase women's participation in the sport and represent the fine city of Charleston, South Carolina. As our team has slowly grown in number and strength, we are constantly reminded of the conservative nature of women in the south and the challenges this presents to developing a full team of aggressive, tackling, thrill seeking ladies. We all put our hearts, souls, and bodies into this sport and we consider our teammates more like family than friends. We are continuously looking for new members (no experience needed) to join our team. If you are interested in staying in shape, having fun, participating in a team sport, meeting lots of people and experiencing the biggest adrenaline rushes ever, please email or DM us!

Please welcome Pam “Shrimp” Marcum as Charleston Hurricanes President for the rest of the season! Shrimp, this team is in good hands. Nothing but respect and excitement to have you as a leader for this team, Shrimp.

And to Lyric Taylor: two years at the helm, and you made every one of them better. You showed up to practice with the speaker and the hype playlist, captured our best moments on camera, and handled the hundred behind-the-scenes details none of us even knew about. This team wouldn’t be what it is without you. Good luck on your next chapter. See you at the pitch! 💙

We are excited to announce that Coach Russell Reagan will be taking over as Head Coach this season!

Coach Russell has been active in the rugby community since 2004, starting his career playing at NC State University and most recently playing with the Charleston Outlaws. He has continued to grow the sport through coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels.

We are excited to have Coach Russell join us and look forward to seeing the growth of the team under his leadership!
