🚨 How NOT to Use the Rotary Torso Machine 🚨

Robin volunteered to help us demonstrate a common mistake... and she nailed it.

❌ Letting the weight stack slam together between reps
❌ Rushing through the movement
❌ Using momentum instead of muscle

Now watch Robin show us the RIGHT way:

βœ… Pull the yellow lever and set your starting position to one side
βœ… Select an appropriate weight
βœ… Keep your chest against the pads and lightly grip the handles
βœ… Engage your core throughout the exercise
βœ… Use slow, controlled movement
βœ… Rotate smoothly and avoid letting the weight stack bang together
βœ… Pause briefly, then return to center with control

Remember: If the weights are crashing together, you're missing out on the benefits of the exercise and creating unnecessary wear on the equipment.

And before you hop off, don't forget to pull the yellow lever and return the machine to the neutral position for the next member.

Looking to upgrade your home workout space?

The Rec Center will be holding a Used Equipment Sale featuring treadmills and elliptical machines from Monday, June 8 – Sunday, June 21, 2026.

All equipment will be sold through a closed bid process. Interested bidders should write the highest dollar amount they are willing to pay for each item on the bid forms provided at the front desk. A minimum bid is required for all items. If you wish to bid on multiple pieces of equipment, please use the same form.

Once completed, bid forms should be placed in the designated bidding box at the Rec Center front desk.

Bidding will remain open through Sunday, June 21.

Highest bidders will be notified on Monday, June 22 or after. In the event of a tie bid, the earliest submitted bid will be awarded first. If the winning bidder declines the offer, the next highest bidder will be contacted.

Please note:
-Bidding is open to anyone 18 years of age or older
-All equipment is sold as is and is non-refundable
-Payment must be made by check
