What an exciting day! Our Y logo was installed on the south side of the new Prairie Summit YMCA. The additional logos over the front entrance will be installed in the coming weeks. Look for the opening day announcement soon.

We have scheduled contract work Friday, June 19 at the Helen G. Nassif YMCA which requires the water to be turned off. The Helen G. Nassif YMCA will be closed that day only and members are encouraged to use our Marion YMCA. If you want to use the pool for lap swim or water walking, please call for a reservation. 319-377-7361.

The YMCA team was honored to speak at Community Night for our new Dick's House of Sport. We are also extremely grateful to the Dick's House of Sport team for selecting our association to receive a $12,500 gift to our financial assistance program. As our CEO shared with the attendees, our two organizations share a commitment to community. On behalf of the Y, please share our gratitude for their local community support when you visit our local store!

Following our weather policy for severe storms, all members and day camp participants currently in our facilities will be moved to locker rooms (designated storm shelters) with our current warning sirens activated. Summer Day Campers who are on the field trip will follow the procedures at that facility for severe storms.

Anyone who is coming in to the facilities will be directed straight to the locker rooms. Those over 18 are allowed to leave to buildings at their own risk.

It’s been a busy weekend for your Y team but we love every minute of it. We were proud to attend the expo and packet pickup for the Cedar Rapids Marathon on Saturday. Sunday our team staffed a water station for the marathon and 1/2 marathon route. What an honor to serve our community!
