Established in 2011, IDF is a premier youth soccer club dedicated to nurturing the next generation of athletes in the Raleigh-Cary area.

We provide a comprehensive soccer education that emphasizes integrity, discipline, and fearlessness. International Development Fútbol Philosophy

International Development Fútbol (IDF) of the Triangle is a player education program whose objective is to develop technically proficient and creative players who can excel in the modern game at either the college or professional level, if they so desire. We do so by providing an international level player experience. The IDF development process begins with our ability to identify talent and work with such talent in an environment where achieving excellence is the ONLY standard. The level of expertise in our program makes it possible for us to educate most players, with varying levels of athletic abilities, giving them a chance to be successful at an older age. Currently our program runs for ten (10) months each year and focuses on youth ages U7 to U18. We serve families and players from throughout the triangle area, which include Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Morrisville, Wake Forest and Raleigh. The “IDF Way”

The single most important function of IDF coaches is to deliver the IDF player education philosophy. All IDF coaches work within the IDF curriculum and deliver training sessions based on the player’s needs at that stage of his/her development. An appropriate coach/player ratio is maintained for each practice or activity. IDF coaches are knowledgeable, organized and enthusiastic. They are required to plan and prepare for practice in advance so the needs of every player can be met at every single practice. Through its high standards, IDF creates a learning focused and fun environment that is both nurturing and demanding. For this reason, IDF players are always excited to attend practice and the benefits are tangible. Players at IDF will learn from all IDF qualified coaches. All IDF coaches work with all the players through multiple age groups based on ability and stage of development. At IDF, coaches are not assigned to a specific team or group of players, coaches work with all the players. Because our program places a premium on working with both players and parents, we have enjoyed an extraordinary level of success locally, nationally and most importantly, internationally. Since inception, IDF has embraced a very clear philosophy, we know who we are, we know the kind of players we are developing and this is reflected in everything we do, how we play, dress, communicate.

In youth sports, we talk often about preparing players for the next level — a more competitive team, college, academy, professional, or simply being successful in life. That preparation isn't only technical, tactical, or physical. It's also in the everyday habits and details that teach respect, integrity, discipline, accountability, and resilience.

Player identification, roster integrity, correct equipment, punctuality, preparation, respect for officials, response to adversity. Small in isolation. They are not small. They create an environment where players learn that their actions, their teammates, and the game itself matter.

A shirt number is more than a number. It lets a referee identify the right player, a coach give accurate feedback, and a scout record the right performance. When basic details are overlooked, we teach players that details are optional.

This is not about perfection. It is about consistency.

Players learn what matters not from what adults say, but from what adults consistently model, reinforce, and enforce. Coaches, parents, officials, clubs, leagues, and tournament organizers all shape that environment — and a standard only holds if everyone applies it the same way, on the days it's inconvenient as much as the days it isn't.

Our shared responsibility is to set standards that fit the age, support learning, and gradually prepare players for greater independence and accountability.

🏅 More Than a Number — On and Off the Pitch

Congratulations to Rhett Steele, who took 1st place in the 1500m at the 2026 PVA Track & Field Championship (International Youth Qualifier) at the Prince George Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, MD — earning an invitation to the 2026 International Youth (Global) Championship this July.

This one means a lot to us. Rhett has built his endurance through his own training, on his own time, without ever letting it conflict with his commitment to IDF. He's put in the extra work on top of the work — and just as importantly, he shows up to IDF training prepared and ready to give his best, never running himself down at the expense of the session.

That's exactly the kind of athlete we believe in developing. At IDF, we support our players in pursuing everything they're capable of — when it's done the right way: with dedication, with discipline, and with respect for the training environment and everyone in it. Rhett is proof that the two don't have to compete. They compound.

Go represent, Rhett! We'll be cheering you on in July. 🇺🇸
