Our next fly tying class will be Friday, January 8, 2027. This will be the first class that will run for ten weeks for the 2027 season at the clubs barn.

I wouldd like to thank all the volunteers and participants that attended the classes this year. We at the club are looking forward to continue hosting these classes and seeing everyone again next year. Without both the volunteers and participants in the class we c

February 27, was the ninth fly tying class at the Carlisle Fish and Game Club for the 2026 season. Dan Harrick was the signature tier. The fly that Dan demonstrated tying was the Sulphur CDC Loop Wing Emerger Fly. He also demonstrated a bonus fly, a March Brown emerger. This fly in a size #12 is deadly when the March Browns get active. The pearl ice dubb wing makes the fly more effective.

The pattern for then fly:
Hook: #12 standard dry fly
Thread: Brown.
Rib: Brown ultra wire size small
Body: 1 part natural Hares ear,1 part bleached Hares ear. Or you can get pre made dubbing for March Brown
Thorax: Burnt orange hares ear
Wing: Pearl Ice dubbing
Hackle: Brown partridge

Our next fly tying class will be Friday, March 6, at the club's barn. The signature tier will be John Conrad. John will be demonstrating a fly called a Mega Bug.

The Free Fly Tying class runs until Friday, March 6 at the clubs barn.

Please note that a list of materials needed for the signature flies can be found on the clubs web page. Materials required to tie these signature flies are not provided at the class. The materials needed for these flies normally can be found at any of the local fly shops.
