Most people try to progress by just adding weight.

But sometimes the best way to improve a lift is by changing how you perform the reps.

Two of my favorite methods:

Pause Reps
• Pause 2–3 seconds in the hardest part of the lift
• Builds strength, stability, and control

1.5 Reps
• Full rep → half rep → full lockout
• Increases time under tension and muscle fatigue

Add these into your training when progress stalls.

Save this and try it in your next workout.

A few weeks into the year is usually when people start wondering:

“Is this actually working?”

Here’s the thing — progress doesn’t always show up as weight loss right away.

Sometimes it looks like:
• Better sleep
• More energy
• Stronger lifts
• Less stress around food
• Clothes fitting differently

Those things matter. And they usually show up before the scale changes.

If you’re feeling unsure about your progress, that’s not a sign to quit — it’s a sign to zoom out.
