Motivated by the ideals of athletic competitiveness, inclusion, and the development of womenโ€™s leadership, the Harvard-Radcliffe Rugby Football Club provides the undergraduate women of Harvard with a unique opportunity to develop both as athletes and as individuals. Established in 1982, RadRugby currently operates as a club sport at Harvard and has about 35 active members, fielding an A and B side

for every game. Starting in the fall of 2013, however, the team will become Harvard's newest varsity sport. The team captured its first-ever Collegiate National Championship in 1998, becoming the first championship team to be led by an all-female coaching staff. In spring 2011, Rad beat UW-LaCrosse, Norwich, Western Washington, and Notre Dame to capture the USARugby Collegiate Division II National Championship. On the heels of this success, the team moved up to Division I in fall 2011, joining the newly formed Ivy League. In it's inaugural varsity season in the fall of 2013, HRRFC won its first Ivy League title against Dartmouth. The team finished with a 5-2 record and received a bid to the USA Rugby National Collegiate 15s Tournament.
