Would you know what to do in an emergency?

Join us for First Aid/CPR/AED Training and gain the skills and confidence to respond when it matters most. Whether you're a parent, coach, teacher, caregiver, or simply want to be prepared, this course provides valuable, life-saving knowledge.

🩺 You'll learn how to:
✅ Recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies
✅ Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
✅ Properly use an AED
✅ Respond to common first aid emergencies
✅ Control bleeding and apply bandages correctly
✅ Practice hands-on emergency response skills through real-life scenarios

🥪☀️ Free Summer Meals for Kids! ☀️🥪

When school is out, the Dallas County Area YMCA is here to help keep kids fueled and ready for summer fun!

We are offering FREE grab-and-go meal packages for youth ages 2-18, with each package including 7 days' worth of breakfasts and lunches.

📅 Thursdays | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
📍 Dallas County Area YMCA
📌 932 W. Main St., Buffalo, MO
🗓️ June 25 - August 20, 2026

✅ Pre-registration required (register only once for the entire summer)
✅ Children must be present at pick-up
✅ Drive-thru style distribution
✅ FREE for all eligible youth

After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email with a QR code for each child. Be sure to save those codes—they'll be used all summer long!

📢 Meals are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Senior Pie Social is taking a little summer vacation! 🌴🍉

There will be no Pie Social in July or August, so take some time to soak up the sunshine, enjoy family and friends, and maybe sneak in a slice (or two) of pie on your own. 😉

Don't worry—we'll be back serving up sweet treats and great company on September 3rd!

The 2nd YMCA Co****le Tournament is right around the corner, and it's shaping up to be a bag-tossing good time!

🌟 YMCA Board Member Spotlight 🌟

Meet Laura Stewart, a valued member of our YMCA Board! Laura is the mom of three outgoing young children and serves as the Customer Service Supervisor at O’Bannon Bank, bringing more than 20 years of banking experience to our community.

Laura grew up in Buffalo and enjoys giving back to the community that helped shape her into the person she is today. She shares that being involved with the YMCA allows her to connect with others, build lasting relationships, and support programs that make a meaningful impact.

To Laura, the YMCA fills so many important needs within our community through youth development, healthy living, and providing resources to those who need them most. She says being even a small part of that mission is truly a blessing. 💙

📚 Fun Fact: Laura is a big fan of reading, and her favorite book and movie is Pride & Prejudice!

Dan Crawford is retired after a 31-year career with Pepsi in Springfield. He is passionate about promoting a strong sense of pride in Buffalo and Dallas County and is deeply committed to serving his community. Dan volunteers his time supporting Buffalo High School sporting events, the local YMCA, and the Downtown Association.

Faith, family, and community are at the center of Dan’s life. He enjoys spending his time attending church, camping, farming, and fishing — while always making time to work out at the local YMCA.

Dan is grateful for the impact the YMCA has on the community and wants others to recognize how fortunate Buffalo is to have a YMCA that serves so many people in meaningful ways each day.
