Parents of Children attending PS 8 The Emily Warren Roebling School
Register for this 8 weeks Spring 2026 season course
 You must register with KidsCre8 at the PTA After-school Enrichment Program
The program will run from April 16 through June 18, 2026
 Every Thursday from 2:40 pm until 4:00 pm.
 The instructor will be Oksana Vasylyeva, a trainer from Gleason’s Gym. Minimum 6 students/Maximum 10 students
Students will learn the art of the ‘Sweet Science’ during this non-contact boxing camp. Students will be introduced to the foundations of boxing, including: footwork, defense, striking, and strategy during a full-filled and exciting eight weeks course. Students develop coordination, self-confidence, critical thinking, and a love for the gym that will endure for years to come.....all while having fun! Boxing equipment will be provided by Gleason’s Gym gym.

One of our boxers, Dr. Asad Mohammad, was featured in an article in New York City’s local newspaper. The narrative highlights his commitment to working as a heart surgeon while training full time and actively competing. He firmly believes in the ideals that boxing not only produces the expected physical and cognitive benefits but also helps a person build resistance to stress and reinforces the mind-body connection.
